TSLL would not be what it is today without the inspiration that France and the French culture shares with the world. The fourth annual French Week took place this year and continues to be the most-visited time of year for the blog. Rest assured this annual tradition will continue in 2020, and I cannot wait to share even more French-inspired posts and episodes, as well as recipes throughout the entire year when inspiration visits.
The opportunity to return to France this year for the fifth time in my life was a surprise, but one I gratefully accepted and reveled in for the entire week. As I share in #5 on this list, as a young girl, I thought myself to be fortunate should I have ever have but one opportunity to visit France in my lifetime, but life surely has had more fantastical ideas, and for that I am quite humbled and forever in gratitude to whomever or whatever has made it all possible.
Sharing all that I discover and learn and am curious about regarding the French culture is a sincere passion of mine, and I appreciate the time of fellow Francophiles to stop by and share their curiosities, passions and experiences as well.
Below are the top five French-inspired posts of 2019. I do hope you enjoy. Bonne journée!

Life Has Better Ideas — Returning to France
“Dreams we have as a child, dreams we pack in a box for college, dreams you unpack when you move into your first apartment, who you’ll meet, where you’ll work, who you’ll fall in love with. Think you have it all figured out. Life has better ideas. A bigger imagination takes bigger chances than someone like me a year ago moving through her forties in a cloud of old ideas. Life gives you more than you thought but maybe not in the package you expected. It’s deeper than that. It’s what you need underneath the want. It gives you what you can’t breathe without. So go ahead and plan, just know when all your scheming, and planning, and hoping is done, life plans back.” —the character of Diana from the television series Younger

I love that quote from Younger. I adore that show. I need to watch more french movies to help my vocabulary between classes. Thank you for your recommendations.
