Ohhh, Mother Nature knew that it was British Week because she gifted us rain that has been falling off and on today.

Seen in the photo just above (perhaps to the right), captures what instantly comes to mind when I think of Britain – gardens. Lush, vibrant and full of various ‘rooms’ of Mother Nature’s seasonal beauty. And of course, beckoning spots to sit and relax, such as this brilliant green outdoor loveseat. Add a hot cuppa (because the rain was falling when I took the photo), bring along a good book or magazine, and this vignette is ideally British in my mind. Where this was captured was at Schreiner’s Iris Garden, and later in this week’s schedule of post, I will share a full tour post (video and photos) of this special place. But first!

Pour a favorite pot of tea, nestle in and get ready for a week of British comforts!

Yep, this year’s British Week is all about how we cosy in and welcome comforts inspired by the British culture, because whether or not you have a trip planned to the UK, all of us who call ourselves Anglophiles can enjoy being inspired right at home.

As long-time readers of TSLL will know, this week (May 17-24 – always the third full week in May) becomes your destination to enjoy popping ’round each day, twice a day, to discover something British-inspired – from exploring British characters and entertainment, travel recommendations and ideas, trusted as well as new brands worth exploring, food & drink, clothing and anything that might be of interest to Anglophiles. Look forward to two new posts each day this week, starting today through Saturday. Then, on Sunday, May 24th, the concluding post will share the five winners of the giveaways (one is open to everyone who is a subscriber to the free weekly newsletter).

So, let’s begin, shall we? First, let me walk you through special opportunities not to miss during this week. And then further down below, you will be introduced to the first giveaway and the first post of TSLL’s 8th Annual British Week!

As has become a new tradition here during British and French Week, TSLL’s notepads that include a themed illustration of British culture (in this week’s case) are on sale. For non-members, you can save 10% off the notepads when you use coupon 10BRITWK now through Sunday, May 24th, and if you are a TOP Tier member, check your inbox, as I have just sent an email newsletter with a special promo code that will save you 20% off. Each of the notepads have 50 pages and a magnet on the back. The illustrations are exclusive to TSLL and were created by Sarah Lœcker (A Cuppa Ideas).
