Welcome to TSLL’s 7th Annual British Week!
Sunday May 18, 2025

Thank you for reading TSLL. The first two posts are complimentary. You have 1 free post view remaining this month.

Become a Member for as little as $4/mo and enjoy unlimited reading of TSLL blog.

The Grasmere gingerbread and digestive biscuits have been stocked (I must confess, already more than a few enjoyed 🙃), rain has been ordered for the weekly weather forecast, and Yorkshire Gold hot tea is being sipped frequently.

Yep, while this may admittedly be any other day of the year, as you and I both have a penchant for British everyday details, this week is a special one here on TSLL. Because it is the annual British Week. 🇬🇧🫖❤️☔️

Already that special time of year has returned again to celebrate all things British with fellow TSLL readers here on the blog, so gather up a favorite British nibble (purchased or homemade), pour yourself a hot cuppa and let’s get started!

As long-time readers of TSLL will know, this week (May 18-24 – always the third full week in May) becomes your destination to enjoy popping ’round each day, twice a day, to discover something British-inspired – from exploring British characters and entertainment, travel recommendations and ideas, trusted as well as new brands worth exploring, food & drink, clothing and anything that might be of interest to Anglophiles. Look forward to two new posts each day this week starting today through Saturday. Then, on Sunday May 25th, the concluding post will share the seven winners of the six giveaways.

I don’t know about you, but I am ready to cozy-in, read a good British-based cosy mystery and connect with fellow Anglophiles.

As has become a new tradition here during British and French Week, any of TSLL’s notepads that include a themed illustration of British culture (in this week’s case) are on sale. Save up to 20% off all A Cuppa Ideas and To Market, To Market notepads, and any bundle in which they are included. (Shop and explore all of the notepads and bundles here.)

Each of the notepads, while varying in size, have 50 pages and a magnet on the back. The illustrations are exclusive to TSLL and were created by Sarah Lœcker (A Cuppa Ideas) and Inslee Fariss (To Market, To Market).

  1. How exciting! Yorkshire Gold…would you recommend that as a bagged tea? I don’t care for PG Tips and so few bag teas are strong enough for me. What I really want to find is the tea British Airways uses! One sip years ago and I was like, Yes, that’s tea. I called them at one point to ask and I’m pretty sure they thought I was just a crazy American. I don’t remember getting a straight answer 😆.
Looking forward to all things British this week!

        1. Happy British Week! I believe British Airways use a brand called Birchalls, my personal recommendation is Twinings English Breakfast, or for when I’m feeling truly decadent Fortnum and Masons breakfast blend
