There’s something wonderfully, dare I say, liberating about French Week. The reminder to embrace life fully, to savor it deeply and to not hold fast to anything that doesn’t have a least a little bit of pleasure or enjoyment in it. Better still, maybe it is because French Week is a reminder of how the culture has infused our lives and elevated them in all its wonderful, simple, yet powerfully life-enriching ways.
To put my finger on it would not do it justice because France has just got that oft-said saying of description – je ne sais quoi about it that makes it wonderfully full of depth, mystery and endlessly enjoyable to explore and get to know further. The latter of which is exactly what we will be doing this year.
As last year’s week focused on oodles of travel destinations and ideas as I had the opportunity to visit France (explore all of the posts from 2025’s French Week here). This year, we’re getting to know France beyond Paris in the many different ways possible, even if we cannot be there in person. Of course, Paris will be talked about, and as likely the reason we first were introduced to Paris was through a movie, a book, or a show (the city has a wonderful marketing team ;), we’re going to do the same thing for other parts of France. In fact, many ideas were shared in this month’s A Cuppa Moments, so if you are a Premier member, be sure to check out August’s A Cuppa Moments as members shared oodles of inspiration and ideas about travel outside of Paris.

How glorious, dearest of all weeks (with exception of British Week, as Rona so aptly pointed out) is here! I’m poised and ready with little French comforts at hand, and, as always, looking forward to learning of new ones to add. L’Été section of the Paris Every Day book by Rebecca Plotnik is open and ready to peruse and savor. And, I probably can’t resist dipping into L’Automne, as well….who could?? French Blooms by Sandra Sigman waits in the wings, vying for equal browsing enjoyment. Gotta love beautiful books that transport us to places our hearts and dreams linger.
Rebecca’s Sunday Links newsletter is always so good!

Happy French week everyone! I love this time of the year. It’s feel like a last vacation week before la rentrée, and in France. Thank you Shannon, I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us.
Welcome Véronique! I hope you enjoy this week of celebration!
One of my favorite weeks of the whole year! I love that you hold French Week in August. It’s so…French. It makes me think of Provence and sunflowers and les francais on the cote d’Azur enjoying the sea and beach just before La Rentree. 🙂
So tickled you enjoy this special week here at TSLL Adrienne! Thank you for expressing your enthusiasm and the timing of it on the calendar year as we ready ourselves for La Rentrée. 🙂 May the week provide discovery, delight and time to just relax and savor the content and good company.
