Sprucing up the spring wardrobe is on my mind as of late, and well, France is on my mind too as this spring will be the first time I have ever visited my home-away-from-home country in a season that I have dreamed about for decades. All of my trips previously took place during the summer for understandable reasons, the school schedule, so needless to say, I want to look my best, but also comfortably so, finding pieces that work well with other items in my capsule wardrobe.

Navy is without question a neutral color along with the traditional hues of neutral, so this month’s Outfits of the Month dance with navy in a variety of items for the wardrobe as well as different ideas for the neutral – beige, rosé, Bordeaux, almond, black and gold.

I have also included three books – each a different genre, all recently published or will be released soon.

  1. Thank you so much, Shannon! I too have been thinking about my Spring wardrobe as I will be headed to Paris in April – giddy with excitement!

  2. Shannon~

I am so happy you are getting to make your long awaited trip to France soon. I know you are thrilled and I hope you share some of your moments on Instagram, while still taking it all in.

I love the Salvatore Ferragamo scarf, the Le Italien jeans and the Silvia loafers. You will definitely look the part in any of those combinations.

Death and Croissants sounds like a fun read for the trip.

Bon Voyage and I know you will have a glorious time!

    ~Michelle

  3. Wow very exciting Shannon. Paris in Spring is intoxicating. Great selection of outfits. The navy dress is by Badgley Mischka not Herve Leger. Look forward to seeing’ Paree ‘through your lens even though I was there just a couple of weeks ago. The blossoms were just peeping through. xx

  4. Lovely outfit ideas Shannon! Number 2 has to be my favourite, that beautiful dress and coat!
Love the book suggestions too, Death & Croissants caught my eye immediately!
And oh how exciting, Paris in the Spring! I look forward to possibly hearing/seeing more about your trip!

  5. Loving your recommendations! My wardrobe base colors are blue (mostly navy) and white with coral as an accent color. The scarf you chose is a work of art. Another great post.

    1. Coral – how beautiful and confident. Thank you for sharing what works well in your wardrobe with navy. Isn’t that scarf gorgeous! And for a quality designer and the price – love that too. ? Thank you for stopping by.

  6. Navy and neutral, a marvelous palette for warm weather! And that scarf, a work of art. So glad you will have an opportunity to travel this year. I will look forward to your posts and Instagram photos! After these long 2 years of limitations, seeing the world with fresh eyes will be fantastic.

On a day when a positive note is so appreciated, a nice green envelope arrived in my mail! I chose the snowdrops bookmark and so glad I did. The end of Winter is always the best time of year! Our March is a rather fickle month, one day warm and sunny and much like yesterday, heavy snowfall. Fortunately, it melted quickly but the little snowdrops just smile knowing that soon Spring will be here. The notepads are perfect. I have a habit of jotting recipes onto pieces of paper, gathering them in a basket and trying them when time and ingredients are available. I then transfer them to a permanent notebook. I am coming to the end of the current notepad, bumblebee theme, and this will be perfect. Thank you, your generosity is much appreciated. I am reading your new book as a day book, that after dinner respite provides a moment to savor!

  7. The royal blue silk sheath dress… love it do you know where to purchase something similar?
