For some of us spring has already arrived, and for the rest of us, we know it will soon be here.

With the release of TSLL’s Annual Spring Shopping Guide last week, I continue to find more items I want to share with you as you prepare your spring wardrobe, and after watching some of the Paris street style during fashion week recently, the Parisians left no doubt, a trench coat is a must-have in every woman’s closet. How you style it, or don’t style it, is up to you, as the trench can do all of the talking, layering nicely over just about anything, day or night, and well, it’s timeless for a reason. (Listen/Read The Francophile’s Style Guide fir a list of items for Effortless Style, ep. #32). I shopped a reasonably priced long trench below from Banana Republic that many fashion editors are tipping their hat to for its effortlessly chic silhouette.

As well, midi-length, something that was addressed and shopped for in last week’s shopping guide, is ubiquitous in so many collections this year, so I have shopped a few dresses from Boden that are flattering, transitional in color and easy to pair with pumps or sandals depending upon the weather as we know spring can be fickle.

And the oversized suit is a trend that is not going away, and when styled thoughtfully can be quite flattering. Monochromatic is easier and sharper as it streamlines and slims the physique, so I have shopped one from an investment brand worth checking out, saving up for and welcoming into your wardrobe. Even if the investment is not available for your budget at this time, I have styled in a way that gives you ideas for timeless style that can be worn for years to come.

And lastly, summer follows spring (I know, a little ‘duh’, moment here, but hear me out), and if you are traveling in spring or will be this summer, now is a great time to think about your wardrobe for warm or hot weather. My mind always drifts to Provence for summer travel, so linen remains a wise fabric to add to your wardrobe. Easy and comfortable and always stylish, the outfit I have pulled together for you, the third found below, is affordable and yep, timeless.

  1. Thank you, Shannon for mentioning Marcel Proust! Definitely a precious man of letters. Did he ever know how to write! How we all yearn for Spring! …. while having 32° weather. — Teresa

  2. Love the fit and drape of those Vesta linen pants–and the inseam length! Must keep these on my radar, thanks Shannon! xo

  3. Interesting inclusion’Swann’s Way. To think that the first volume was refused by the publisher Gallimatd!. I can vouch for Caudalie’s Vinosource moisturizing mask. Sk8n feels do.plumped and hydrated I love it. Love the Reformation trousers
    Kameela?

    1. Kameela,

Thank you for sharing your experience with this Caudalie product. It came highly recommended from beauty editors and I have been wanting to give it a try for all the reasons you have shared! Will definitely be giving it a go in the future. ☺️

    2. I’ve always been tempted by Caudalie’s products and have dabbled in the past. Definitely now will give the Vinosource a try. (And ok if I send email to ask for your facial oil etc? I know, I know, but..I ask because it is the same reason I will always wear lipstick. You know.) xx Merci bien, m’amie?xx Rona

      1. Rona I love Caudalie. I don’t use many products but this mask is fab , the vinoperfect serum and moisturiser. They smell great, are at a reasonable price point for us here in France and they last quite a while. A little goes a long way.
Only too happy to share the facial oil recipe with you ma chère It will be winging its way to you shortly. Enjoy the rest of the week xx

  4. Merçi bien, Kameela, I look forward to receiving the recipe. And from online reviews the Caudalie serum sounds perfect for my sensitive skin.?Enjoy the rest of your evening.xx
