Holiday gatherings has begun, and it is time to get dressed up. I look forward to doing exactly that even though I won’t be able to have a soirée at my own home this year but that just makes next holiday season all the more something to look forward to. Here in Bend, Oregon, the attire usually needs to include some warmth, but that does not mean the style quotient has to be sacrificed.

This month’s outfit can take you from a more casual gathering to an evening of festivities all while dressing for the winter weather. And I couldn’t help but add a book even though you will likely be reading it at home on some other evening, but I have heard great reviews about this new title and wanted to share.

  1. Very interesting outfit, and I understood finally how over-the-knee boots can be used in a elegant manner. 🙂

  2. I’m a teacher like you. I know you know how limited our budget is. I would love to see more affordable ideas like you used to include.

    1. Katy,

Welcome to the blog! As a teacher, I still invested in my clothing items and only bought a few each season, but those few investments lasted for yeeeeears. In fact the dress I am wearing in this month’s A Cuppa Moments was designer in brand, but purchased on sale years ago and I still wear it because it is made well and looks as good as brand new now seven years later. I never expect readers to shop the entire outfit or even the outfit at all even if an item is something they love, but rather gather inspiration for what pairs well together. Cheap items do not last, and I will not promote them on this blog. Quality is a better purchase, even if it takes time to build that capsule wardrobe. And even if you, as I do still, but as a teacher did frequently, see something you love, know it is not affordable, but save it. Sometimes, it goes on sale later in the year as I have it on alert with Shoptagr I can purchase it for a steal of a price because I know it works with what I wear and already have and I love it.

I hope this helps. I also address your question in my FAQ page. Here is the link. https://thesimplyluxuriouslife.com/contact/

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a wonderful final few weeks with your students before holiday break. 🙂
