Well, if there was a show set in Provence that piqued the shopping interest of TSLL readers, it was Nancy Carroll’s wardrobe in BritBox’s Murder in Provence. 🙂

I received more than a few emails and comments about her wardrobe and where to find everything as one reader inquired *fingers crossed*, and I too am right there with you. Take me to Provence and pack Nancy’s clothes as she stars as Marine Bonnet, every single piece!

Today I have tried to round up as many similar items as I could, and darn it, I had to go back and watch a few more moments and scenes in the first season ;).

What I love about the styling for her character is that some items are repeated (the navy crossbody bag and espadrilles, for example), and none of the items are glaring as to what the designer is, or if it even is a designer item. What I saw on screen is what I saw when I visited Provence in 2018 – linen in so many different renditions – pants, tops, blazers, loose, but thoughtfully styled to hang well and proportionally, and classic styles so as to be worn for years as they complement the person donning the wardrobe.

One of the items I LOVED that she wore was the dark green sleeveless jumpsuit, and I could not find something similar to that cut (wide shoulder straps and a hint of v-neckline), but I did find some jumpsuits out of linen, with different leg-lengths and necklines. Wear on their own or under a blazer, and you will love the simplicity and the comfort.

Nancy Carroll’s character’s sleepwear also caught my eye, so I shopped one of the pajamas, albeit, I did not find it in silk (you can, but they are VERY expensive, and hard to find), but it is from a reputable brand and quite affordable.

The one pair of shoes you see is an invitation (linked) to shop this brand’s entire site of espadrilles – there are oodles. I have a pair of them. I love them, and they are worth welcoming into your closet if you find what you want. I only included one pair of shoes because she frequently dons this style.

I do hope you find an item or two or an outfit that inspires an idea for what you already have in your closet. Happy shopping and may visiting Provence be in our near future (and a second season of Murder in Provence as well)! Bonne journée.

  1. Thank you for doing the leg work Shannon.

I loved everything about this character and had resolved, after watching, to get espadrilles and learn how to do a proper French twist.

    This was a fun…and inspiring…OOTM.

    ~Michelle

  2. I love everything she wears! I was hoping you could identify the shirt dress she wore in the first episode. I’ve never seen anything like it where the color went from dark at the shoulders and faded horizontally to white at the collar.

Now I’m off to buy some espadrilles.

    1. Brigitte, the dress is by Claudie Pierlot, a French designer. It’s a subtle tie-dye pattern, and was originally long-sleeved, so must have been altered. Very hard to track down, but good luck!

  3. I haven’t started this series yet, looking forward to it. Thank you for this post. Linen fabrication and manufacture have improved dramatically in the last few years due to the increase in the use of natural fibers in clothing. Often you will find a mix of some other fabrics in the weave that reduces the wrinkle and improves the wearability. These pieces transport me to Summer, I really, really need warm weather right now! Because I am a “maker” I ordered many yards of linen and linen blends for my Summer wardrobe. One essential item, per season, is a white blouse. If there is only one item added to your essential wardrobe, you cannot fail with a well-designed white linen blouse! Have a wonderful trip Shannon, I hope the weather warms for your arrival!

  4. I absolutely loved everything she wore in the series! It gave me major motivation to my wardrobe stills.

  5. I loved her wardrobe, too! With a little digging, I managed to identify a few of the pieces: the green tie-waist shirtdress is by Boden, the beautiful sleeveless ivory dress is by Reiss, the sandals she wore with the sleeveless yellow jumpsuit are by Sezane, and the drop-shoulder breton shirt is by St. James. Not sure if this will carry through in comment format, but if it’s of any interest, I made a Pinterest board with outfit stills and what items I could identify (exactly, or close duplicates): https://www.pinterest.com/mektweets/style-ish/mip-marine-bonnet-wardrobe/
Thanks for recommending this series! What a treat!

  6. Thank you Shannon, her wardrobe is so inspiring and perfection! Still on the hunt for that jumpsuit!!! xo

    1. Also scouting for this yellow jumpsuit! Can’t find it anywhere! Anyone know? Thanks for this! She’s fabulous.

  7. I would love to know the where to find her jewelry. I love the gold and carnelian round earrings she wore in the 1st season 3rd episode

  8. Please can you help me find the handbag Marine Bonnet Carrie’s? Who makes it what designer? I thought it might be vintage Hermès but I went to website it wasn’t there.

  9. This is awesome! Thank you. How bout the beautiful royal blue, silk dress she wore in the first episode where they find out they have to cancel their trip?

  10. I too am interested in the beautiful royal blue, silk dress she wore in the first episode – who makes that dress?

    1. Sue,

Thank you for remembering this outfit. I had almost forgotten about it, but it definitely is striking. I have just now updated the post having found a couple of similar camisoles. I couldn’t find the overshirt, but will keep shopping.

  11. Glad to find others who love her style. So chik and a joy to watch. Anyone knows where to find the white shirt with blue and red pattern, she wears with the lovely pale blue jacket, smart pants and wedge samdals?
