Part of my capsule wardrobe in the summer is the classic navy and white stripe long-sleeve top. And it was last year when Julia Leach launched her online clothing company Chance that I fell in love with her concept – focusing on simplicity, quality design, adventure and personal style. After purchasing the classic boat neck stripe top (seen above), I wore it out wearing it incessantly. Consequently I purchased three this year to make sure I always had one on hand.
While stripes are the foundation of her business (found on short-sleeve tees, camis, dresses, etc), she also offers many other summer essentials, but one can never go wrong with stripes. Shop here.

I’m officially inspired to acquire a striped shirt as well.
I go gaga for stripes too!!!!! Thanks for the referral! Will check it out now!
I like stripes and I love you blog, with LOVE…
Hi -Can you comment on sizing for the Chance shirts? I feel intimidated by their (no) return policy. Would the shirt look bad if I ordered a size too large? I am a small person but confused by the ever-shrinking size syndrome. Should I order a medium? 36-25-39
Thank you an advance.
For the classic boatneck Greece top (which is seen in all the images above), they recommend ordering one size larger. Take them up on this advice. I typically order a medium, but the top you see above is a Large. I have purchased a large each time and it fits perfectly – not loose. And after washing, it will shrink back up. Now in their cotton tops – order your normal size as they don’t have the recommendation of ordering up or as much stretch. I hope this helps.
I recently ordered a Chance Co shirt, and I was immediately disappointed in the quality. The material is very thin, and for some reason the sleeves get very stretched out. I don’t see this shirt lasting very long. If Chance didn’t have a no return policy, I definitely would have returned it.
I am sorry to hear about your experience. Yes, the boat necks are thinner cotton, but the thick stripe, crew neck tops are a very sturdy, yet soft cotton that I love. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for highlighting the difference! I did order the boat neck.
What is the length of the shirts? I couldn’t find this info on the website.
They hit me just above the hip.
