Knitwear. Specifically knit dresses.

Cozy comfort paired with flattering style, a knit dress that falls to the right length for your stature, designed with a neckline to add the signature look you are seeking is a capsule item to have in your fall and winter wardrobe.

The subtle give of the fabric creates a silhouette and with the right balance between snug and loose, when the proportions are tended to flatters the woman wearing the dress all the more.

In my own closet I have had one knit dress (seen in this December’s A Cuppa Moments) for six years and it continues to be a go-to each winter. Navy, slim skirt with a blousy turtleneck top and dolman sleeves, I feel as though I am wearing a hug and relax knowing I look put together for a variety of casual or more dressed up affairs.

Today I have shopped more than twenty dresses at a wide range of price points. Whether you are looking to purchase now or simply considering adding this style to your wardrobe, look for sales to start happening in late December, and scoop up what you love and will flatter your figure.

  1. Hi Shannon,
I loved your dress from this months video chat. Where was it from? I know you said it was 6 years old, definitely a good buy!
    Kind regards
    Paula

  2. I love this style. Your navy dress you wore was truly elegant so to be comfortable too is a win-win!
Definitely an item I want to welcome into my winter capsule wardrobe. Careful consideration must be given to make sure whichever I choose flatters my figure and shape, but these ideas are helpful.
    Thank you x

  3. Shannon your dress is beautiful. Such an elegant style. Sometimes they can look a bit dowdy. I was a big fan of the knitted dresses over the years but somehow I fell out of love but since this post I am definitely rethinking a knitted dress. It’s always good to revisit something through the eyes of someone else. Thank you xx

    1. Thank you Kameela. You bring a valid point and an important one when it comes to knowing our proportions, what lengths look best on our silhouette, etc.. Sometimes just a knit skirt works beautifully paired with a more structured shirt. Thank you for taking a look. 🙂
