As the final week of 2018 begins, Norman, Oscar and myself would like to wish everyone a very Happy Holidays, or Joyeuses Fêtes.
As excited as we are to peer into our stockings (as exemplified by Mr. Norman on Christmas Eve) or open our presents, may the potential for magic during this time of year carry over into the rest of the 11 months. Simply by believing good things may be awaiting us tomorrow, later today or next year, we reveal we are more positive than we realize. So why not practice forgiveness, a letting go of judgement, a default toward kindness, each month all year. I will be doing my best to put each into practice as I strive forward because as I was reminded by a recent podcast episode I listened to, it doesn’t matter whether the glass is seen as half full or half empty if there is a pitcher nearby. And that pitcher is the world we live in; we just need to know where and how to look for the goodness.
Wishing you much love and kindness,
Shannon (and Norman and Oscar too!)
Epilogue to the image above: Since Norman wasn’t allowed to enjoy the goodies in his stocking just yet as he still had 24 hours to wait, he was happy to step outside and explore in the snow (as seen below).

With love and very best wishes from the UK. The photo of Norman made me chuckle, he reminds me of my children on Christmas Eve “please Mum, can we open just one?” All the very best for 2018. I am beginning to feel excited about what the New Year will bring.
It made me smile to read your last sentence. ?

Thank you Kameela. It might ease your mind to know, in Bend, we still do not have snow. But it sure has been lovely to have it here where I have traveled to for the holidays. Thank you for stopping by and yes, the boys were quite spoiled 😉
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and thank you for a year of marvelous posts and good advice. I am leaving my job at a large church on Dec. 31- not retiring, just launching an open-ended sabbatical. Your podcast about allowing oneself to feel awkward came at just the right moment for me and I consider what is ahead. Thank you!
Wishing you a wonderful year of courage and beautiful discoveries. 🙂
We were blessed with a white Christmas Eve and day here in North Bend WA. Beautiful and my two pups had a hay day. I look forward to a wonderful New Year. It is all what you make it and I’m going to make it shine. Wishing you and Norman and Oscar the very best. I so enjoy your posts. Sharon
