There is a comfort in knowing a good cuppa awaits to be enjoyed whether I am at home or traveling. Add the gift of birdsong while I sip and relax, and well, hold me in such a moment for eternity and I will be more than content.

Yesterday Norman and I arrived back home at Le Papillon and after tending to young seedlings on my potting table, refilling the bird feeders after being away for three days, refreshing the water in the bird bath and feeding Norman his dinner, I stood on the porch and took in the birdsong.

Even while I was in Wallowa County, while wandering in the pasture at my parent’s home out in the country, the birdsong was plentiful, and the birds full of conversation. I reveled in it. (thank you to my mother for capturing this pic seen below.)

As the evening unfolded, the moment captured here with my small tray and Norman waiting patiently to snuggle in seemed a natural choice and is a regular ritual. The serendipitous arrival of the most recent issue of The English Home made it all the more sweet.

While we only officially celebrate all things British during one full week here on TSLL blog and the podcast, knowing such everyday moments infuse my days brings me calm, deepens my appreciation for having been introduced to the British culture ten years ago this year as I stepped onto the land affectionately called Blighty and makes me smile when I cross paths with a fellow Anglophile.

I want to thank every single reader who stopped by throughout this past week. I genuinely enjoy reading all of your comments and I know other readers do as well, and while I don’t respond to comments on the Giveaway posts, I read every single one. Thank you for all that you share, thank you for taking the time to say hello to engage with the TSLL community and always know you have so many genuine Anglophiles who unabashedly share and appreciate the British culture no matter where they call home on our grand Earth right here at TSLL blog.

Sixteen posts were shared this week, 17 including this one, so be sure to visit the British Week Archives here to make sure you didn’t miss any of them. Also, remember you can also access TSLL’s Travel Guides for Britain here throughout the year as you plan your upcoming trips.

Before I wrap up, I want to extend a tremendous thank you to Sarah Lœcker who created the new illustration for this year’s British Week and subsequent British Weeks that will follow. 16. Congratulations to all the winners. Thank you Shannon for sharing your appreciation of all things British. As someone who was not born in Britain but in a British colony I have a deep love for Britain having lived there just under 50 years even though now I live in France I still appreciate all that this country has to offer. Kameela xx

  17. Wow, what a week! Shannon, I just want to thank you again for a rollicking good ride, with lots of great detailed posts of your travels, plenty of photographs to help us feel as though we were there with you & your mum & so many generous & thoughtful gifts. Congratulations to all the winners as well. I won wine glasses & a tablecloth in French week (2 years ago now? that long??) & we use them every single day (even though neither my husband nor I drink wine, we use the glasses for our morning orange juice & they add a definite luxury to our breakfast routine!). And every single day, I’m reminded of my intention to live my best luxurious life & create a home that is both nurturing and comfortable. I’m sure everyone who won this year will find the same lasting connection to TSLL. [The whole week’s been a much-needed break from unpacking after our recent move, too, for which I give double thanks!]

  18. What a fun week! I’ve enjoyed so much seeing what Shannon had to show us. I think I’ll have a couple days of withdrawal having only a few posts each week rather than 2 a day. Shannon, you spoiled me!

  19. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you Shannon for an amazing British week. I so enjoyed all of it.

  20. First, thank you for such a great week, with each of your specialty weeks I learn something. And that, in and of itself, is the purpose of my following. Your stories, your content, and your photography are a standard for my time. Like most, my time is somewhat limited and I try to use it wisely. Thank you aS well for the Jubilee Tea Gift Box, I will cherish it!

  21. Thanks, Shannon, for your blog & for having such a wonderful competition. I’m loving reading your book each day & consciously going about my day, marvelling about every day wonders, especially watching & listening to the large variety of birds that visit my garden.
Your British Week brought many fond memories of our trip to the UK six years ago for my 60th birthday.
Thanks again for your time & effort.

  22. Congratulations, winners! I enjoyed every minute of British Week, and topped it off by going to the new Downton Abbey movie. I also bookmarked the page with the cute teapots, and I fully intend to purchase one on my own as a reward for some accomplishment which is yet to be named. Anyways, this was quite an enjoyable romp!

  23. So much fun sharing British Week with everone! Thank you Shannon for all you put into the week.

  24. Congratulations to all the lucky winners! And thanks again, Shannon for a wonderful week! Your blog, podcast and books have been such an inspiration. Have a lovely week, everyone!

  25. Congratulation to all the winners! 🙂

This was a fantastic British week – thank you, Shannon. Contents, photos, comments/ conversations within the TSLL community, it all so very nice and inspirational. I will re-visit this week again, when finding myself in need of a Brit-fix… 😉

    Have a nice week, everyone!

  26. Congrats to all the winners!
Shannon thank you a wonderful British Week of posts and podcasts. I am even more excited about my trip in 2 weeks. You reminded me of many things I miss about England and will try to savor my time there.
