The baguette has been picked up at the market, a French cheese is ready to be enjoyed, and French music may or may not be playing here at Le Papillon while I type 😉🇫🇷.
Welcome to TSLL’s 10th Annual French Week!
I am so tickled that you are here to join in the festivities of this very special week here at TSLL.
It’s hard to believe this is our 10th year already, but it also feels as though we’ve been meeting on this week in August dependably for OODLES and oodles of years, a week that sweeps us away to France whether we’ve been there, are planning to visit or simply want to savor the French culture from our cozy sanctuary.
What a great week we have in store this year, and as many TSLL readers know, having enjoyed a trip just this past March to France (read the two detailed Travel Diaries posts here), so much of this year’s French Week will be sharing the places, finds and experiences I recommend, thoroughly savored and think you might want to put on your itinerary or simply will find inspiration to add a touch of France to your everyday life.
Sitting down and pulling together the posts and videos that you will see this week brings all of the ‘feels’ rushing back that I experienced and savored, and I hope you too feel vicariously transplanted in both Paris and Brittany over the next seven days as you peruse the content.
With that said, let’s begin with a video shall we? Let’s step into Paris as well as take a peak at the Atlantic Ocean from the shores of north Brittany.

The official illustration seen at the top of today’s post was created by Sarah Lœcker, the illustrator behind all of the illustrations in my most recent book The Road to Le Papillon: Daily Meditations on True Contentment, and years ago I shared, when the illustration was first revealed, that it was inspired by my trip to Paris in 2022. Discover what each of the details included are and where they were seen and experienced. You can read that detailed post here (scroll half-way down the post).
Traveling to France?
Be sure to check out TSLL’s Travel Guides, organized by regions of the country:
1.First, you will see “Travel Guides” on the menu bar on the blog (blue circle below). Click this to be taken to the designated page for all of TSLL’s travel guides.

2. Then, you will see that my Francophile and Anglophile destinations are front and center. Click on France, the image on the right (blue circle).

3. Then you will be taken to the page that contains all of the regions I have visited over the years.
I continue to add to this list, edit and update it with each trip (my most recent being in April 2022).
Simply click on the region (or city) and a full page (especially for Paris) will appear, sharing a Google Map as well to help you see where you are in proximity to other recommended locations.
These lists are entirely Free, and I look forward to adding more discoveries and places in the coming years whenever I am fortunate to return.
