The day has finally arrived!

Just over six months ago, the cover and contents were revealed for TSLL’s 4th book, Savoring the Sojourn: Contentment through the Seasons as You Unearth Your Masterpiece. This was the longest TSLL readers have had to wait for a book to be released upon learning about the book. This was intentional. Let me explain why.

The book was ready back in February, but the timing, the release date needed to be in Autumn (or just before). This will all make sense when you begin reading the book, but waiting to release it today so that you will have it in hand just before Autumn’s officially beginning in the latter half of September is so that you can begin the journey of the four-part masterpiece creation cycle with the season that begins it all – Autumn.

This leads me to sharing why I have been repeatedly playing Antonio Vivaldi’s Autumn Concerto from his well-known Four Seasons composition each time the book’s cover or news about the book is shared on Instagram. More will be shared in the Overture chapter of the book about this composition, and if you’d like to listen to the full Autumn concerto, it is included in the Playlist for the book, all three are shared below, and if you have the eBook, they are linked in the book.

The BIG news today is that Savoring the Sojourn is now available for purchase in all four formats on Amazon worldwide. Wherever you call home in our grand world, Amazon is able to ship from your closest point of delivery. This will save you shipping and time. Below are direct links to many of the Amazon shops around the world.

For purchasing hardback, paperback or eBook formats:

~The Audiobook should also appear on the Amazon purchase page, but if it doesn’t, Audible. It will eventually will show up on Amazon as a fourth format option.

If you are inspired to leave a review after reading the book, as readers of TSLL, your words are powerful as you understand the ethos of living simply luxuriously, and your time to do so means more than you will know. I will be posting reviews on the product page of the book here on TSLL as well as on Instagram and other social media sites, so whether you wish to post on Amazon or here on the blog (book’s product page), rest assured, it will be included. 🙂 Thank you for your consideration, but most importantly, my intention for this book is for it to be a resource you return to again and again with each new creative or growth journey you embark on, providing the reassurance, inspiration, and motivation to trust your inner compass and share, discover, and create what you yearn to unearth.

Now, many TSLL readers have already ordered signed hardback or paperback copies, and no doubt you are eager for your book to arrive. I am too! My promise was to have it at your doorstep, in your mailbox, no later than September 15th, and we are on schedule to make that happen! Your books have been ordered from my publisher, and they are en route to me now. Once they arrive, I will sign them, package them with your gift (if ordered), and send them your way. These were all US orders, so it will take about 3-5 business days to arrive after leaving Bend, Oregon. I will share on my Instagram account when I receive the books and ship them out, so be sure to follow along there if you’d like.

One more time, let’s have a look at the trailer for the book:

Below you will find the playlist for the book. If you are searching for the playlist, simply search “Savoring the Sojourn” and it will pop up. There are a total of 27 songs/compositions shared in the book, and I have placed them in the order that they are mentioned in the book, so you can easily find them as you read along and play them as you are curious to do so. Of the three playlists below – Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music, I was able to find all of the tracks mentioned in the book in Apple Music. So if you have a choice, I would look to this playlist. The other two have nearly all of the tracks, minus two or three. Be sure to save the playlist, so you can easily access it when you want to return to it.

Join me at the first book event for Savoring the Sojourn in-person AND Live via Zoom! On Thursday, October 1st, I will be giving a reading and signing copies of the book at my local independent bookshop, Roundabout Books. You will need to secure your spot, so reserve here through Roundabout’s website.

Description of Savoring the Sojourn:

A significant component of successfully creating or learning anything new involves understanding how the process works.

Each of us has masterpieces within us. They may be tangible in form, such as traditional art ‑ a painting, an invention, or a novel, or they could be the glimmers of a concept, ideas entertained but as of yet not embraced, skills waiting to be honed and put into practice, wondering if we will find the courage to share them with the world ‑ a business brainchild, a leadership role, parenting skills, even attaining with proficiency a new language or skills to design artisan furniture, a cottage garden or an inviting website. The list is infinite, and no masterpiece is too small or unconventional when it comes to what a masterpiece can be, so long as it fits two criteria: intrinsic to our true self, and our willingness to set it free beyond our control upon completion. After all, we each have many masterpieces patiently waiting in the queue, hoping that we will muster up the courage to bring them to fruition.

However, all too frequently, fear stops us from finishing, even starting the creative process to bring our ideas to life. Essentially, what we are considering is a leap into the unknown, a journey without a map (or so we think), stepping onto an unfamiliar path, a challenge we have yet to complete successfully. While others may have done something similar, we have not yet done it for ourselves.

The reassuring good news is that our fear is confirmation that our idea is sound, and, further, the path to masterpiece creation is well-worn, with great success, each creation entirely unparalleled. What is in parallel is the four-part cycle of the journey.

With the wisdom of Mother Nature’s four seasons, paired with the expertise from researchers of positive psychology, professional musicians, business educators, psychologists, and philosophers, Shannon Ables teaches the four-part cycle of bringing a masterpiece to completion, all while savoring the entire journey, each sojourn.

When we learn how to savor each season on the calendar—a sojourn, temporary in its duration, yet a place we reside for three months of the year—our ability to understand the four-part cycle of creation: acquisition of new skills, assessing, adjusting, and then finally, releasing, eases our mind so we can commit fully to creating. This understanding then becomes something we savor as well.

Specific ideas for savoring the four seasons in all arenas of our life—everyday routines and rituals, decorating our sanctuary, cultivating a garden, cooking with ease, oodles of petits plaisirs, and wardrobe ideas for traveling to France as well as Britain that correlate with our everyday capsule wardrobe—fill the four seasonal chapters of Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Each chapter also includes skills to strengthen true contentment. Discover the benefits of mindfulness practices, how to regulate the nervous system for stability to find enjoyment in stretching ourselves to complete each masterpiece, and learn how to strengthen self-trust in the journey we have chosen.
