Spring may feel far away in the distance as we wake up to snow and freezing temperatures at the moment, but before we know it, gentle warm weather will arrive and so too will longer days – spring cometh soon!
What also will be arriving this coming March is a trip to France for TSLL. Back in September 2022 after my previous visit in April 2022, I set a goal for myself to learn the fundamentals of the French language – grammar and pronunciation, and to be able to speak comfortably even if not perfect. So I enrolled in French language classes and told myself I would only return after completing all of the 100 and 200 levels. Well, just yesterday, FR 204 concluded, level B1.3, (explore all of the posts in the series, “What I Learned in French Class, So Far . . .” here) and while I have been anticipating my trip since purchasing plane tickets back in autumn, now I feel I have officially met my obligation to fully enjoy the trip. And that means I need to shore up some details for my wardrobe.
With that said, I know there are TSLL readers who will be visiting France this spring as well, and in fact, one such reader, Katie, a long-time member of TSLL Community, reached out recently to ask about shoes for walking around Paris in March. And that has been my guide for beginning today’s post because if our feet are comfortable, and we also feel appropriate walking around the city of Light and popping into visit museums, shops and boulangeries regarding the style quotient, it makes the entire experience all the more memorable.
Today, I have shopped quality finds available at various price points for sneakers, coats and pants (and a few extra finds), some inspired from the latest looks seen in Paris at the couture shows on the street, and also primarily inspired by being classic choices for timeless style.
Of course, there are a few other items to pack with you for a visit to Paris in the spring, and I have detailed those here in this post and in this post from my last visit to Paris in the spring. Let’s go shopping and then hop on that plane or train to Paris!

Love the Adidas Japan sneakers!
Cathy,
Aren’t those timeless with their retro-feel, but also a touch of modern going on? Adidas has another design that is very similar and even more retro, but a bit less slim, however, still classic. Here it is: Gazelle – https://rstyle.me/+2W5cs-SpwP5i1iDV9eGtAA
Thank you for stopping by and wishing you a great day ahead!
Me too!! I couldn’t help myself and they are arriving tomorrow! I didn’t even request speedy shipping! I don’t think they are coming from Japan 😉
Thank you for posting even more suggestions 🙂 Spring in Paris is going to be such a lovely time and a pair of good shoes, and a good coat is a must-have for travel.
Have a wonderful trip Katie! 🙂 Tickled to see you stop by and have a peek. Bon voyage! 🙂
