Oversized is not overhyped and worth definitely exploring.

Keeping in mind what is ‘oversized’ for one person might be ‘just right’ for someone else or visa versa, but the concept of quality oversized pieces to mix and match with I find to be a timeless option that will not go out of style. From a loose trouser leg to cozy oversized sweaters, ‘oversized’ will keep returning as a trend, so don’t hesitate to invest when you find an item you love.

I have styled two pant ensembles – one with denim and the other a plaid trouser, and the third outfit while not technically oversized, the dress is somewhat loose and blousy and when accessorized just enough, the silhouette is complementary, classic and will suit your style based on the pieces you select – knee boots or pumps, a statement belt or a classic cincher. Have fun playing with options, and rest assured, your ‘oversized’ inclination will not steer you wrong.

Mixed among each outfit are items already on sale for the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday events, as well as a designer handbag – a new favorite style – found at a great price on consignment and never used. Look for a new Style Inspiration post later this month to share detailed finds to prepare you for the big weekend of shopping savings. And if you haven’t already subscribed to TSLL’s free Style Inspiration newsletter to be immediately alerted to new style posts, be sure to sign up here.

Oh! And of course, three books that come highly recommended from various literary sources – one released last year, another now available in the UK and next year in the US and a novel just released this month. Tuck one (or all) of these books into your handbag, and always have something to keep you off technology for a bit longer to calm your mind and being.

Have a look and happy shopping!

  1. I have the Vince funnel neck sweater in gray – I bought it years ago and it still looks great. And so cozy. I highly recommend it!

    1. I love Vince sweaters….Marina what’s your secret for keeping them from shrinking? 🤷‍♀️🫣😄

  2. I love the way you choose the different elements of each outfit and you match them with a book: it isn’t just an original detail but it really helps capturing the mood of the outfit itself! Such a charming way to talk about fashion 💫

  3. Oooh — today was a knock-out day for fashion and comfort! And books galore. Excited to dive in. Cozy sweaters, cute and classy jewelry, and books – divine!

  4. Just wanted to say that I love that you have started to pair a book with each outfit. I think it is a great tweak.

    1. Martina,

So tickled you enjoy this detail, and actually, I have been doing this for quite a while with each of the Outfits of the Month. Be sure to go back and peruse, as you might find a book that speaks to you! (even if the outfits aren’t stoppable anymore ☺️). Gotta have a book at all times, non? 🙂 Thank you so much for stopping by!
