~I invite you to listen to the audio version shared above, where a guided meditation is provided that follows what is shared below in the text.
When I first began gardening, much of what I learned came from the mistakes I made – overwatering is possible! – or the tasks I didn’t do that were needed for plants to thrive. As I read books, watched gardening programs hosted by seasoned gardeners, and asked questions of gardening experts at public gardens and nurseries, I saw more successes, the ones I had envisioned and hoped for.
The same thing happens when we put in the time to meditate, which strengthens our ability to be mindful. And all mindful means is to pay attention and see clearly. When we begin to see clearly, we begin to notice what nourishes us or what causes us to shrink or reduce our ability to live well. By becoming mindful, we become aware of what to water in our lives if we want it to grow and what to stop watering so that it won’t continue to strangle the awesomeness that is possible.
So with each opportunity to meditate, be reminded that you are strengthening the skill of knowing yourself and your environment to discern with more clarity what nourishes you, and in time, you will become clear about what you are currently watering that nourishes, and also be able to pinpoint accurately where you have been watering that simply wastes water. Choose to be a sustainable gardener, to carry our analogy forward, and in time, your garden, your entire life, will be enriched, verdant, and deeply nourished, enabling you to flourish into your full and true self.

~To conclude each meditation session, I encourage you to recite a mantra of your choosing and design. In the Contentment Masterclass, I share my example, which you are welcome to use, tweak, or look to as a template to design your own. Also provided to enrollees of the course is a free trial of the guided meditation app I use.
