During the winter holidays, a pile of books is often my favorite company as I rest, read, eat, and repeat. Okay, I usually do squeeze in some exercise, a movie or two, time with family and friends and celebrating the holidays themselves, but down-time is made for reading for pleasure. And while I do not often read novels, when a novel is praised by someone I trust, and it is set in England, and it shares a worthwhile message – in this case, have patience with our lives and trusting our journey, I pay attention.
And since there won’t be a new This & That post until Friday January 4th AND this book includes the month of December in its title, I had to hustle up and share it with you. 🙂
One Day in December: A Novel by Josie Silver is already a best-seller. Set in London, it was recently chosen to be a Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine Book Club pick. The actress and now producer shared, “Get ready to be swept up in a whirlwind romance. Laurie falls in love at first sight with a stranger, and spends the next year looking for him. Fate brings them back together at Christmas, but not in the way anybody expects: turns out he’s dating her best friend. It absolutely charmed me, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all.”

I think Reese’s quote sums up why this would be a light-hearted and lovely read to savor this holiday season, and speaking of books . . .
. . . I wanted to post one more reminder to readers of TSLL’s new book Living The Simply Luxurious Life: Making Your Everydays Extraordinary and Becoming Your Best Self (available on Amazon in eBook and paperback here) to share a pic of your own copy and a glimpse into your very own unique simply luxurious life. You may post it on Instagram (@thesimplyluxuriouslife or #tsll2ndbook) or email me (info@thesimplyluxuriouslife.com), and on Monday December 31st I will be sharing on the blog what readers have captured as they begin diving into their own copy. Thank you to all who have already shared. I look forward to sharing more pics like @lechefswife (see below).
