Spying that burst of yellow sunshine in flower form, a sunflower’s beauty savored.

Becoming delighted by the unabashed joy of our pup, our child, our friend, immersed in a favorite activity.

Witnessing the immense talent on display at an event, exhibit, activity or performance that has our full attention.

Each of these instances and in any situation when we are in the moment, we are experiencing Me Time.

Me Time grounds us and becomes the stability upon which we are able to then see when we step out of the now.

Whenever we experience the mind wanting to be somewhere else, we are not experiencing Me Time because it is engaged with something else. That something else that is not happening right now is beyond us, so it involves others or other things that vie for our attention and distract our engagement.

It is when we are engaged – immersed in a project we are passionate about, enthralled by a conversation we are having with another person, watching the events taking place at this very moment-a play, an event, a teaching of a lesson, savoring something, anything that is observed in the moment we are sharing – that we are caring well for ourselves. Caring for our mind, caring for others (by giving them our full attention), and caring for the immediate and further afield world around us by seeing what actually is, not what is feared or hoped for, but instead the realities of right now, which will lead to more success in decision-making for the tomorrows we are dreaming about.

Me Time is more abundantly available to us each and every day and all we have to do is remember to be fully present in the Now. Our life lived, appreciated, and tended to free of anxiety or worry. Lived because we are dancing with what actually is and giving of our full attention and presence.

Let’s begin . . .

~To conclude each meditation session, I encourage you to recite a mantra of your choosing and design. In the Contentment Masterclass, I share my example, which you are welcome to use, tweak, or look to as a template to design your own. Also provided to enrollees of the course is a free trial of the guided meditation app I use.
