Where do ideas come from?
Wherever they spring up from, our mind must be able to see them when they do, and just as it is difficult to make out the license plate numbers of a car that zooms past us, we make it more difficult, if not impossible, to catch ideas if we never let the mind relax.
Meditation teaches the mind how to relax and that it is safe to do so. Productivity, ideas, these will not be impeded by our taking the time to meditation – to slow down, and in fact will bolster our ideas. We fuel the ability to be more creative. With practice, the mind, and thus each of us who is meditating, begins to witness the ease that the skills of meditating bring into our days as we engage differently. We are now present enough to see the ideas because we are still, giving our full attention to the moment, not racing forward toward tomorrow or lingering in the past worried about unwanted events repeating themselves.
