With summer’s arrival also begins France’s semi-annual country-wide Les Soldes. And they are occurring all over the country as well as online France-wide. Case in point, as I was watching Le Tour de France, the peloton was snaking its way through one of the major cities, I spied on one of the billboards the words Soldes in big bold, block letters and little less. Clearly, nothing else needs to be said about this annual event of worthwhile savings. Everywhere the sales abound.
Les Soldes are sales that last for four full weeks with discounts increasing each week. Beginning on June 28th and running through July 25th, if you have a favorite French brand whether they sell clothing, décor, kitchen, anything, be sure to visit their site online, or better yet, if you are in the country, visit their shop.
Today I have shopped a handful of French brands and their primary website or where their clothing is available, and listed the discount when available. In the first brand shared below – Jacquesmus – you can hover over the images and click on them to shop; however, for the rest of the brands, simply click on the text link to shop the items that catch your eye listed underneath the visual collage.
A few finds that especially caught my eye this go-round: the denim dress above from Vanessa Bruno, and if you’ve never shopped Figaret, they are a must-visit for classic shirts (and a stunning pair of pajamas as well) for both men and women. Of course, I always include Eric Bompard’s cashmere finds as the prices are absolutely awesome for the high quality you are receiving. A fairly consistent 50% off sooooo many cashmere items – sweaters, scarves and more, both men and women. I could go on and on about each of the brands below, but I will let you get to the shopping, perusing at your leisure. Enjoy the savings on finds that elevate your capsule wardrobe even more for years to come,
Stay tuned as in the coming weeks, I will be shopping (and scouring for deals on quality finds) the Annual Nordstrom sale and sharing my finds here on the blog.
Happy shopping!

A lovely collection Shannon. While I have never shopped during the Soldes, there are a few tempting items on your list. I was wondering if there are sales, in the country between the semi-annual event? In this country, everything seems to be “on sale” every day, and calculating the true price of anything from furniture to underwear is almost impossible. If one waits for the price to drop on any given item, only limiting sizing may be available. A denim dress is almost essential to any wardrobe because of its versatility. A belted neutral jacket is another piece that is a core item and its 3 season wear in my climate makes it a staple in my life. Mine is getting a bit shabby with wear and I think a replacement is due. Have a lovely week, savor the beauty of the season, reap the reward of your garden, and hug the pups, their photos are so sweet.
Lucy,
Thank you for stopping by! And great question. While I can’t be certain, the key differences with Les Soldes is that it is government regulated and collections other than the most recent are on sale. It is not something the brand/business can selectively decide what is or isn’t. I am sure sales chosen by the business may happen in between, but it is discretionary and up to the purveyor/owner. I certainly didn’t see sales as frequently (or really at all) as we do in the states.
You make a good point. Sometimes if we do wait, the size may not be available, so it is a gamble, but respecting our budget feels so good in the long-run (although requires discipline when we find what we feel is the perfect item☺️!) In such cases, I always consider cost-per-wear as I don’t shop/purchase as much or as often as in the past, but far more wisely, purchasing the item I know I will wear often is worth scooping up before my size is gone.
With all of that said, I agree! The core items you mentioned are wonderful pieces to have and enjoy wearing for years. Thank you for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful weekend as well and love to you Lola ???
