Returning to Paris. Yep, that is hopefully going to be happening sooner rather than later.

In fact, a trip is being worked on as we speak, and as I shared with TOP Tier Members in August’s A Cuppa Moments, I will be sharing details about when that trip will actually take place and when we will be meeting up for a special meal with a handful of members in the coming months, so do stay tuned. And because I am in the throes of planning that trip, I have been taking careful note of hotels and accommodations I want to stay at during my trip and have a feeling you might be interested in as well, so I wanted to share my discoveries.

Over the past two years quite a few new and newly remodeled hotels as well as vacation accommodations have opened, and the four I want to share with you today are all on my radar as places worth checking out (and checking into ;)).

I have organized the post according to price, accommodations type and aesthetic. Also of note: Each of the three hotels included in today’s post made the list of Condé Nast Traveller’s Best Hotels in Paris for 2024, and the vacation rental accommodation I have chosen is one I have my eye on as it provides an entire apartment with the luxury of Paris and Britain. I think you will know why I chose to include when you read below.

Each of us will have our own budget, necessary comforts we require as well as location in the city we prefer, and as luck would have it, each of the accommodations below is located in a different arrondissement. For me, I tend to book two different places, one for when I arrive before I leave the city and head out into the countryside or off to another city, and a second accommodation for when I return before I hop on the plane to head back to Bend. This bookending allows me to have fun and stay in a more upscale accommodation even if for one night, and also ensures I get a good night’s sleep in a neighborhood I feel most comfortable in.

Have fun perusing the accommodations below, and if in the future I find myself staying at any of these, I will be sure not only to update this post, but write a detailed post of my experience.

Maison Bohème

Recently renovated, and ideal for the Anglophile who is also a Francophile (so many of TSLL community ;), Maison Boheme is located at the top of Montmartre between the Sacré-Coeur and the famous Place du Tertre. Offering entire apartments (some quite petite, others more spacious), all with 5-star quality accommodations and furnishings, if you like me, enjoy heading to the market to pick up local produce and then returning to have a good meal, this is a dream of an accommodation (plus, the famed cooking shops are located nearby in the 1st arrondissement, just down the hill).

With nine apartments & suites available to rent for your next visit to Paris, Maison Bohème brings together both tradition and luxury, oh! and amazing views of Sacre-Couer. Each apartment is named after a well-known artist who spent time in Montmartre during their lifetime, so you will see accommodations named after Monet, Caillebotte, Matisse, Modigliani and others.

In their recent press release, they described their renovations as:

“Les chambres se distinguent par leurs magnifiques papiers peints liberty, véritables hommages aux cottages anglais. Les motifs floraux délicats avec les teintes pastel apportent une touche de douceur, créant une atmosphère élégante et apaisante. Ces éléments décoratifs emblématiques, associés à des meubles vintages et des accessoires soigneusement choisis, transforment chaque chambre en un cocon chaleureux, reflétant l’authenticité du style cottage et shabby chic.”

Translated: “The rooms are distinguished by their magnificent liberty wallpapers, true tributes to English cottages. The delicate floral patterns with pastel shades bring a touch of softness, creating an elegant and soothing atmosphere. These iconic decorative elements, combined with vintage furniture and carefully chosen accessories, transform each room into a warm cocoon, reflecting the authenticity of the cottage and shabby chic style.”

And another perk: You can book directly through their site, of if you have an AirBnB account you can find Maison Bohème there as well (here is a link to one of the suites, but you can find them all on Airbnb, just search Maison Bohème).

Here is a look at some of the apartments and suites. You will notice that each one is decorated with wallpaper and/or includes printed upholstered furniture – very much adding a touch of classic British décor to the space and certainly helping a small space appear larger and brighter as well due to their colorful choices:

Hotel des Grand Voyageurs

Having just opened this year, Hôtel des Grand Voyageurs is one to keep in mind as it won’t break the bank, but it will give you comfort and an ideal location for traversing around the heart of the city.

With a modern and neutral aesthetic, there is also a retro vibe to this place with vinyl record players in some of the rooms and just check out the detail in the bathrooms. As well, this is definitely a convivial place as it incorporates open areas for gathering, dining and enjoying the city. Ideal to suit multiple tastes if you are traveling with someone, while located in a traditionally touristy arrondissement, there is a local vibe that is undeniable based on a handful of reviews I have read about this place.

Have a look at a few images below of the rooms, restaurant and bar.

Maison Delano

Large spacious rooms, even the smallest of rooms are quite large (they also have a Presidential suite – check out the final photo on the right below), and Maison Delano is just steps away from Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and “offers a bustling cocoon of discretion in the heart of Paris”.

As much as you might imagine this hotel having luxurious price tags, in the off-season, the prices aren’t that bad especially if you want comfort and luxury with the ideal location. I also love the classic décor touches such as the high ceilings and crown molding, all the while offering a clean, muted palette letting the architecture shine.

Chateau Voltaire

Repeatedly, I have seen and heard recommendations of Chateau Voltaire both on top travel magazine lists as well as from bloggers, but I will warn you, this hotel comes with a hefty price tag. To my eye, Chateau Voltaire, while beautiful, doesn’t compare (for the price tag) to Maison Delano shared above; however, what I would definitely make sure to do is enjoy a nice meal at Chateau Voltaire, and if possible, then ask for a look around. One of the reasons for the high price tag is the location. Located between the Jardin des Tuileries, the Opéra Garnier and the Louvre, “Château Voltaire stands at the forefront of hospitality by offering the service quality of a five-star hotel and the atmosphere of yesterday’s elegant auberge today.”

Bon voyage !

  1. Oooh la la! Thank you, Shannon! I’m actually taking one of my daughters next spring (she’s never been). I appreciate all of your research and everything you post. I remember a few of your trips to Paris, including some great interviews. You really cover it all so beautifully.
What a fabulous French week already!

    1. Jennifer,

I am SOOOO excited for you and your daughter! What an amazing trip and first-time experiences await. If you have any questions, and you can’t find it on the blog, just reach out any time. 🙂 Thank you for your kind words. I am so happy you find the content worthwhile. 🙂

  2. These are beautiful suggestions, thank you. Any one of these arrondissements are lovely and have their own charm. I was fortunate to have a spent a university year attending the Sorbonne Nouvelle, and brought my husband back there a few years ago to walk through all my old haunts. They were still there, a fact that just blew me away! I need to get back soon for a visit 🙂

    1. Fiona,

What delights me about Paris is that unlike many cities, and definitely cities in the US, it doesn’t change too much. 🙂 So happy you were able to return and see and recall no doubt many wonderful memories and share them with your husband. What an amazing experience you must have had back during university. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

  3. Shannon, I have favourited this post as all the coverage of Paris has really made me want to plan a trip. It’s such a long time since I visited as my husband and I haven’t been together so I am thinking about a trip soon.

  4. Quintessential in design and spirit, thank you for the truly lovely spots either to dream about or plan into! Your travel recommendations are so very helpful ~ I’m reviewing your Eurostar post this week to line up a ticket London-Paris and back, and so appreciate the guidance.

    1. Liz,

Happy to share and tickled you found the post helpful. Once you know your dates, regarding the Eurostar, the times are flexible so you can change depending on how the day unfolds, and the earlier you purchase the less you pay. I am excited for you to go on your next trip! ☺️

  5. I haven’t been to Paris YET but this post is giving me butterflies! I’ll be saving this post and your other guides for when the time comes for me to plan my Paris trip.

  6. Great Recommendations as usual . I love staying at the Relais Christine in the heart of St Germaine de Peres ( 6th arr.) It used to be an old abbey and now a beautiful luxury hotel . Location is fanastatic – few blocks from the Seine. They have a great breakfast Buffett. Rooms are so beautiful and staff so helpful/kind. It reminds me very much of The Goring Hotel in London. So many wonderful places to stay in Paris.

      1. Definitely check it out Shannon. We most recently stayed there over Christmas 2023 for 2 weeks. They have a wonderful spa. My daughter and I got massages they day we arrived and I ended up falling asleep during my massage … it was relaxing and I was jet lagged 🙂

  7. Hi Shannon,

you have really curated such a great list of places to stay and things to do in the City of Lights and this post certainly adds to it! We were supposed to travel to France this past spring but had to postpone our trip. Next year!! I have been to Paris but only one and many years ago for only a few days. I plan to review your France posts so that we don’t miss out on anything. Provence and the Normandy areas are definitely on the list as well as Paris.

I love French Week. Keep it coming.

  8. Gorgeous choices all, but I believe my favorite is the Maison Bohème which is, as you say, a delightful mix of British & French sensibilities. xx

  9. Thank you for compiling a list of these beautiful Paris hotels. They are so elegant and aesthetically pleasing. I would love to stay in one!?

  10. Exciting additions, Shannon! Montmartre is one of my favorite arrondisements, so I will be sure to put Maison Boheme on my list.

    1. Sara,

Doesn’t Maison Boheme look special? When they reached out to me to let me know it was now open and available for renters (the just finished renovations early this year I believe), I saved it immediately for my future plans. It looks wonderful. Enjoy your next visit to Paris! ☺️

  11. Lovely! Just opening the my appetite to a trip to Paris… 🙂

From the pictures, my favourite is Maison Delano and second, Maison Bohéme. I also looked into the rooms at Relais Christine, per another comment, and oh la la!…

Whatever you choose, cannot go wrong, Shannon. All these places look promising. I have bookmarked them all. For future use, see. 😉
