To begin British Week with something to savor our cuppa just seems prudent and a must-do. After all, when we sit down to read, relax or just be, often it is, at least for me, coupled with a teacup full of tea to sip (with a teapot nearby for a top off).
While we have had one previous giveaway of Burleigh treasures in the archives of British Weeks, I felt it was time to bring back this treasure for two winners this time to welcome these timeless items into their everyday routines. And this year, you get to choose what you would like.
Seen here are two different collections: the Arden (front – teacup and saucer, right/back – teapot) and the Calico with the pitcher of flowers. The pieces of the Calico collection were gifted to me this year, and I am quite loving them, as they are vintage and to feel the difference of the teacups compared to the most recently made available is slight (the older collections are finer edged); however, they largely remain the same – size, thumb rest, quality and exact print of design. I am tickled to have a pitcher in my collection now as I prefer to use it as a vase.

Did everyone struggle on which pattern they liked most? There are so many beautiful options! I even took a moment to travel down the rabbit hole and read about the company. This pottery is made in the last working Victorian pottery in England. Their items are all so pretty, it’s hard to find just one! However, I really liked the Blue Asiatic Pheasants Mug 284ml/0.5pt or the Dark Green Asiatic Pheasants Covered Jam. All of their patterns are beautiful, but I really enjoyed these two.

I married an Englishman 21 years ago and we purchased an entire set of Blue Asiatic Pheasants on our honeymoon and had them shipped to the US. The marriage did not last, but the transferware is still used daily and I still love it!! We could use a replacement plate however as we’ve lost a few over the years. 10″ please!
