The summer heat is on, as evidenced in the news this week, so wearing clothing that breathes is essential as well as protects us from the sun.
While I have already shared two Style Inspiration posts this month (see here and here), I felt it worth sharing one more as there has been a bit of a drought of such posts in previous months (pardon the pun). Just this week, one of the most popular posts of the year – Nancy Carroll’s Outfits from Murder in Provence – saw an uptick in views, and I received more questions prompting me to search for more items. Having just updated that post (the navy crossbody bag was found! and is at a great price for a quality item), and added a seventh outfit, I began finding more clothing items I wanted to share, so I compiled today’s post.
Currently, I am finding myself wearing an abundance of linen (whether in the form of a dress, a shirt or shorts) and gravitating toward my Eric Javits Panama hat rather than donning sunglasses (shop all of their summer hats here, they don’t offer sizes, which I wish they would; however, the hats are well-made). Comfort supersedes style during such hot sweltering days of summer, but if we shop wisely and know what works well for our bodies, environment and lifestyle, we can find items that pull their weight and hit the mark for both style and comfort.
I have shopped a few items in today’s post to hopefully add just these two must-haves to your summer capsule wardrobe along with a new book published just this past spring and receiving high praise that spoke to me as I am spending so much time out in my own garden (in the mornings and evenings of course, whilst tucked away inside during the height of the heat of the day).
Wishing you beautiful summer days. Santé!
