Opening in early May and running through October, each Wednesday beginning at 11am - 3pm. Directly situated next to Mirror Pond at Drake Park. This is Bend at its best.

Big Story Bookstore (new & used books)
A m of a bookstore in Bend that reminds me of Powell's in Portland as there are oodles of used books (in like-new-condition) and a welcoming and playful atmosphere for those of us who love words, books and learning something new.

Brick House
Located in the heart of downtown Bend, directly across the street from the Oxford Hotel, enjoy seafood (their seasonal halibut and sauce was delectable) and steak, a central dining location for locals (and you may even see Oregon's US Senator Wyden).

For a scrumptious breakfast or lunch (closes at 2pm), most people sit outside, with outdoor heaters in the cooler months as the restaurant is located on Newport Avenue across from Newport Market - lovely people watching.

After you visit their original location (near Drake Park), be sure to pop into their second location where Eddie has even more. He needed more space for all of his treasures, and I think this is the best of the two (but stop into both, b/c you never know)
