Watching a film or TV series with Molly Rogers at the helm of the clothing design team is reason alone to watch the film, and that is what I have done more than once with The Devil Wears Prada 2 this past August, now that it is streamable.

Across the board, there is ample style to be inspired by, and depending upon your preference, you likely have a character you are drawn to for most of their wardrobe. For me, it’s Andy Sachs, and definitely a bit of Miranda as well. Kenneth Branagh on the men’s side has my thumbs up wholeheartedly – trés European and timeless without being too much (Stanley Tucci, I love you, and you work at Runway for a reason – you are fabulously dressed and wear it all with aplomb.)

With all of that said, this month’s Outfits are inspired by both autumn’s nearing and Andy Sach’s work wardrobe in the latest film. Some of the items she wore are still available, but very few (for example, the Levi’s she wears in the final scene are out of stock, BUT, I wouldn’t be surprised if they become available again).

And what inspired this post initially was my fascination with the vintage Coach Metropolitan Briefcase (similar to a messenger bag) that Andy has slung over her shoulder for most of the first half of the film. So I did some shopping around (and there are still some vintage Coach options – make sure it has the shoulder strap as well as the handle – not all do – I did link one above in the mention of the bag), and found new messenger/mailbag totes in a variety of colors at mid-range prices.

With neutrals primarily found in each of the outfits, Andy’s own wardrobe is now more signature, more refined, tailored, yet relaxed, conveying that she knows herself far better than she did in the first film and has found her footing in a career that she loves. So, let’s take a look shall we?

AND! With each outfit, a new book, either just released or about to be released in three different genres. Happy shopping and have a wonderful start to autumn.
