For the first time in 11 years, TSLL’s Holiday Gift and Shopping Guide is coming out in early November. Wahoo!!
Giving you time to shop, while inventories are still well stocked, I am grateful to have the time this year to do the shopping for you well in advance so you can welcome favorite Francophile and Anglophiles finds into your holiday décor and check off your gift list having confidence you have found items you love.
What you will find in this year’s TSLL Holiday Gift Guide:
The focus is a bit different from other gift guides out there: Many of the 60+ items are for you, your home, and your approach to creating a holiday season that is cozy, comforting and full of thoughtful, delicious touches. Any and all of the items may be gifts for others as well, but holiday decorating gradually builds upon what we know brings us joy and a calm, yet joyful feeling about the holidays, and I encourage you to remember to include yourself during each year’s holiday festivities.
In my own home, Le Papillon, I am little by little creating an English cottage aesthetic for this annual decorating season for the winter holidays. I pared down quite a bit when I moved in to two years ago (this is my third Christmas) and now, gradually, I am adding a bit of whimsy with the ornaments (but just a touch), simplicity and elegance to create a welcoming ambiance for myself and whomever may be a guest during this time of year, and making sure each are signature and thoughtfully considered. From food tree ornaments, an advent calendar for both myself and Norman (we’re picking his up today from Trader Joe’s!), to stockings to hang on my new fireplace mantle (view it in September and October‘s A Cuppa Moments), and I am especially excited to use my tree basket for the first time this holiday season – something that for small houses, as well as houses who want a bit more tidy, fit perfectly into the aesthetic of cottage décor (in my mind, but everyone is different ;)), decorating for the holidays is a gift to ourselves and those who share the household with us.
I had fun pulling this year’s Holiday Gift Guide together, gathering items from well-known, lesser-known, domestic and international businesses. Predominantly, the finds are Francophile and Anglophile, and I have designated each of these finds with their respective country’s flag on the left of each item. I do hope you find one or more finds that speak to your love and celebration for the holidays.
If you are a TOP Tier Member of TSLL, be sure to visit this month’s A Cuppa Moments as one of the items shared in the shopping guide is being given away to a lucky Member (be sure to enter by November 17th!).
I have organized items loosely into categories:
- Ornaments
- New Holiday Music albums
- Advent Calendars
- Books
- Holiday Food Gifts
- Décor
- Stocking Stuffers
- Clothing
Okay! Now, let the holiday shopping begin! Wishing you a very, merry and happy holidays and Christmas and Hanukkah and whatever you celebrate this time of year. Why not simply celebrate welcoming more joy into the world by finding joy within ourselves and sharing our peace with others? ☺️ Okay, that was a pondering, and now to the list!

Peppermint bark and cashmere!!!
Such a great pair! 😉
I am loving the list this year 🙂 One thought, have you considered spreading the love when it comes to where you link books to? For example, linking some to Bookshop.org and some to Amazon as opposed to all to Amazon or even a local bookstore in Bend? Just a thought 🙂 Thank you for the work that goes into a list like this!!! I for one am excited for the array of chocolate offerings.
So many wonderful ideas!!! This is going to be a multi visit to peruse blog…I just can’t take it all in at once! I am now off to Trader Joe’s for advent calendars..had no idea they have them for dogs! Hope they have cat ones too or they may steal the dog’s!
Michelle, They DO have ones for cats. Be sure to scoop the calendars up quickly as they go fast. I called my local store and they told me when they would be on the shelves. Norman and Oscar LOVED them last year. 🙂 We went this morning and now Norman’s is stored away until December. Little does he know! 😉
I got them! They didn’t even have the cat ones on the floor yet, but the employee heard me say I wish they had cat ones and ran in back because they had not unpacked them yet! I put them away in the Christmas closet and when I came out..the three of them were sitting there like…um..we smell snacks! thanks for the information! I also picked up truffle pie chocolates and peppermint marshmallows…smh
So happy to hear! Thank you for sharing. ☺️ Your cats are going to have a great holiday! ?
Wow Shannon – this is amazing.
Where is the “send me one of everything please” button? ?
Thank you so much for pulling it all together. I rarely shop online but this could change my thinking….
Catherine
So happy you are finding items that speak to you! It was a lot of fun this year to take the time, not be rushed and pull this one together. I too am saying something similar here – where is that button! 🙂
Yes, I want that button, too, please… 😉
What a gorgeous list ! Thank you Shannon ???
Thank you for stopping by Anne. 🙂
Fantastic!! At first I was a bit disappointed that there were more British than French items, but then I was introduced to Sarah Raven!! Oh my gosh, my new favorite shop!! Thank you, Shannon!
She is great! Be sure to check out her podcast – Grow, Cook, Eat, Arrange with Arthur Parkinson – https://www.sarahraven.com/podcast
Lovely curation Shannon! I am in for a Calm Christmas book club? I’ll be re-reading this year!
What a fun collection of items to peruse. Vosges chocolate is one of my all time favorites. Thank you, Shannon. ???
Doesn’t that advent calendar from them just look absolutely yum! Thank you for stopping by Judy. 🙂
I had to keep stopping in the middle of reading the blog to go order gifts! Thank you Shannon for a great list and for getting me into the holiday spirit ?
So glad to hear you are finding gifts that catch your eye! Thank you for stopping by! 🙂
What a great selection! You have been a busy bee, reading our minds! I so appreciate your timing, with the busy days ahead, we are all trying to simplify our holiday preparations but working hard to keep it meaningful and special for each gift with give. On my way for the doggie advent calendar, Lola iw so spoiled anyway, it will be perfect. May your days be filled with joy and kindness, a peaceful heart, and hope for the year to come. May I add that I have already begun some book purchases, one you may enjoy in particular by Frances Mayes, Women in Sunlight. I have been following Frances for a long time and find her work to be the perfect escape. This novel chronicles three women who visit an Italian village and their transition to life in a foreign country. Frances has been living in Italy for some years and her experiences there and her cooking has clearly reflected her life. *She is the author of Under the Tuscan Sun, popular from the movie of the same name.
Lucy,
Thank you for reminding me of Frances Mayes book. I had wanted to read it when it was released, but never got to it. It does look interesting and I too appreciate Mayes writing.
So glad to hear you are spoiling Lola! Give her big hugs from me. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and happiest of holidays to you and yours. xoxo
Wonderful selection of items, added a few new things to my wish list!
I have the Paris calendar by Rebecca Plotnick, it’s beautifully made and the photos will be framed keepsakes after 2022. Highly recommend! https://rebeccaplotnick.com/
Couldn’t agree more! I have her 2021 one and her photography is just outstanding. Thank you for sharing your experience. 🙂
I am so in love with so many items on the list. I’m thinking of sending this out to my mom and hubby as a wishlist. They can pick randomly, I’d be ?
I love this idea! ☺️
Brilliant idea! 🙂
Love love this selection.
The Christmas in the city mugs from Anthropologie definitely caught my eye as did the brass coasters. When I need a new wool hat I know I’ll be looking to Saint James now.
Calm Christmas is on my list to read this year as is An Almost Perfect Christmas which sounds like perfect light reading.
Thank you for taking the time to put such a great set of recommendations together, Shannon.
Thank you for this! I have been taking notes… 🙂
My favourites, aka, will go into my own Xmas list, as prioritary 😉 :
– R&W candle holder, candlestick and coasters;
– E. Bombard long stole;
– Filt Market bag;
– Longchamps Paille Tote.
Poilâne Sourdough Bread was already on my list, to great amusement of my family – why would I want a bread for X-mas?!… How about a piece of butter, hmm? – to what I answered: yes, please, thank you, you are so kind… 😉
I really like German traditional beech wood carved ornaments. They are beautiful and delicate. A little work of art on their own. This tree topper is particularly gorgeous.
Finally, thanks for remind me of Rovira chocolate. Althought I was born in Portugal, I come from a Spanish family from Barcelona, on my mother’s side. Rovira goods and later Rovira chocolate, are a sweet memory. Literally. And I will have to order some for me. Right away. 😉
I am glad that this year I took my time – plenty – to visit the TSLL Gift Guide, to take notes and peruse the goods. It has been a mostly enjoyable activity – and in the meantime, I consumed an entire pot of tea… 🙂
Thanks, Shannon!
Isabel, Thank you for stopping by! I always enjoy reading what caught your attention. Thank you for sharing. And a pot of tea! I am so grateful for your time. xoxo
On wow, it’s like walking in to a boutique that stocks all the most beautiful things. I love it and don’t know where to start ??
Nicola, So happy you enjoyed this year’s holiday gift guide. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by.
Such an inspiration, thank you Shanon!
I would add to the music list the new album by Jamie Cullum “The Pianoman at Christmas”
