- 1 ripe avocado halved, pitted and cut into cubes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice fresh
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 slices crusty fresh artisan bread
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
Toast two slices of artisan bread.
While the bread is toasting, prepare the avocado spread: Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, remove the cubed avocado from the skin (turn the skin inside out) and place in a small mixing bowl. Add the fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper and crushed red pepper flakes (optional). Mash with a fork until coarsely combined.
Place on top of warm toast and enjoy!
