Over the weekend I shared on the blog that the Barefoot Contessa returned to Food Network for her 15th season. Currently titled Cook Like a Pro to pair with the launch of her new book which was released this week, tune in for five more weeks to see a new episode on Sundays at 12:30.
Having received the cookbook on Tuesday (see below), I have gone through it and dog earred all of the recipes I cannot wait to try. Needless, to say there were many. In fact, one of her recipes I remember her sharing a few years ago on her cooking show. I wrote it down at the time, tweaked it a little and it is the focus of the final episode of The Simply Luxurious Kitchen tomorrow (episode #8) – Pear Clafoutis. Inspired by Parisian chef Daniel Rose’s recipe, it is simple, yet full of elevated flavor.

Sometimes I am unaware of how exhausted I am by the end of the week until I put my feet up on my ottoman Friday evening. Needless to say, after forgetting about two appointments this week, and having to reschedule, I told myself, perhaps you need more rest this weekend than you thought. How about you? How did your week go? I hope it has gone well, with an abundance of productivity, but also many moments of joy and pleasure.
Already it is the last weekend of October, and I have to wonder how it passed so quickly. It has been an exquisitely beautiful month with Mother Nature earning more than two thumbs up from me for the magnficent colors we have had the opportunity to enjoy. This weekend it is supposed to rain, and for that as well, I am quite happy. Below are a more than a few articles and two videos I think you might enjoy.
