Francophile Finds

~My Culinary Journey: Food & Fetes of Provence with Recipes by Georgeanne Brennan

I am quite late to the party when it comes to discovering the talent of cook, Francophile, and James Beard award winner Georgeanne Brennan, but I am fully intrigued and present now. Born in California, and having attended college in Aix-en-Provence, she bought a farmhouse in Provence in the early 80s which provided ample content to explore. She was recently profiled in Victoria magazine, and since then I have been adding her many cookbooks to my wishlist. In 2016 My Culinary Journey was published, and it caught my eye as it travels around Provence sharing how to make goat cheese, ideas for festive summer meals and much more.

~Potager: Fresh Garden Cooking in the French Style by Georgeanne Brennan

One more. I cannot help myself! After visiting Les Jardins de Villandry in the Loire Valley (take a tour with me from my travels in this video), where the largest vegetable potager garden can be found in France, I wanted to explore the French garden concept further, and this just may be the book to help me do that.

~House of Cards, the final season, Netflix

It has arrived, and Robin Wright is the new President of the United States. In House of Cards’ final season, which is entirely available today on Netflix, discover how the tumultuous political journey will come to an end. I will admit, when I find a few free hours, I may just be bingeing on a few of these episodes.

Hello weekend! Hello November! And hello an extra hour of sleep!!! I am not sure which one I am most excited about. (Okay, if I am being honest, probably the arrival of November as it is when TSLL’s 2nd book is released – 🙂 ), but in all sincerity, I am craving some deep, restful sleep, a lusciously long, let-stretching walk with my dogs and some time to just be.

How about you? How has the start of November begun? I do hope very well indeed. Oh, I do have to share, as this news brought a smile to my face yesterday – TSLL’s French teakettle is coming home! Yep, you may remember that I shipped it off to be retinned back in August, and it will be home in the next week or so. Rest assured, I will be documenting is arrival safely back at my house and am excited to share the transformation (here is the before). Before I wrap up here, I want to thank Pam of Olive and Branch for the extremely lovely advanced review of Living The Simply Luxurious Life . Before long, if you have preordered a signed copy, complete with a simple luxury, it will be arriving at your door (psst – and if you do not want to wait for the preordered copies, you can order your copy now from Amazon). Thank you for stopping by today, and until Monday, bonne journée!
