I have notice a slow, yet steady shift over the past few years to midi-length, cinched at the waist, retro-inspired feminine silhouettes regarding dress styles. And I must say, I am increasingly loving it.

As a follower of Jamie Beck’s instagram – @annstreetstudio – her sartorial silhouettes align most beautifully with this trend – longer, free-flowing and feminine – enabling the woman to move, yet still accentuating her true beauty. And while I enjoy my pencil skirts, I have always preferred skirts to hit just below the knee and hitting at mid-calf is now becoming something quite fun to shop for as well.

Today I have done some of the shopping for you as well as included a few visual inspirations of how to potentially style your dress. As you can see, adding your signature can be done in a multitude of ways: layering, belting, accessorizing, simplifying. Have a look and consider welcoming this silhouette into your summer wardrobe this summer as well.
