Style Inspiration: The Classic White Shirt

May 12, 2015

A classic item for every capsule wardrobe, as I suggest in this list, is the classic white button-up shirt. From fitted to loose, traditional or long, this collared, chic separate pairs perfectly for casual or more professional settings. This particular stretch version from Theory has recently taken the top spot in my closet when it comes to this classic must0have, but Foxcroft also makes a quality version as well. I must admit, I didn’t pay full price for my Theory find, as I found it reduced 50% at The Outnet. And let me say, now that I have it, wear and have worn it often, I would have paid more for what I received.

And if you are looking for inspiration as to how to wear it, today’s post is the post for you. Enjoy!

  1. Lovely examples of the classic white shirt Shannon. I’d be interested to know if any of your readers like me — petite and well endowed — have found a classic white shirt with no patch pockets. I’m hoping to find a silk or cotton one in petite sizing, I really need the shorter length, shorter sleeve and no tail wandering to my knees!

    1. Hi Rose,
Brooks Brothers has petite white shirts….go on-line check it out!
They also carry a sleeveless white shirt that tapers the body in non-iron that can’t be beat.

  2. Talbots has some lovely, high quality shirts if your needing a shirt for a bustier figure. Sleeves, no sleeves, wrinkle resistant or not they carry it all. GL.
