One of the simplest and surest ways to look chic, confident and pulled together is to choose an ensemble of white, black or anything in between. From gray to stripes, to simple black ankle strap sandals, the look is timeless and looks effortless. Be sure to choose your favorite look which will be shopped next week.

The white shift dress was the overwhelming choice of readers last week, and while the dress in the image is from Selfridge’s (sold-out), there are a handful of wonderful options that range in price (I’ve included two below). With a straw fedora to block the sun, a large leather tote to carry all the necessities for any occasion, the sandals add a touch of color and your summer glow will complete the look.

  1. Such a classic look! We wear a lot of black and grey here in Seattle (goes with the cloudy rainy days I guess!). It’s always a no brainer to wear a black skirt or trousers with a silk top ~ white or otherwise. I’m loving the rolled up white pant with the black sandals. So chic! xxleslie

  2. Love the casual but chic look of #4! Really love them all, black and & white is always so crisp and classic.
