As with life, so too is it a good idea to keep a sense of balance about our wardrobe when we pair tops with bottoms, shoes with jewelry, and prints with solids. In today’s Style Inspiration, choosing a neutral or wardrobe staple and pairing it with a bold, unique or statement making print, top or texture, creates the perfect balance of simple with personality. After all, it only takes a subtle infusion of our signature style to communicate our confidence. In fact, too much can often simply be too much. Have a look at the outfits complied today and be sure to choose your favorite to be shopped next week.
Now last’s week’s choice by readers was quite quickly that of the chic and elegant polka skirt, and while Banana Republic still has the dress on sale, the skirt has been quickly sold-out. So I decided to turn the outfit on its head – polka dots on top, solids on the bottom. With a blouse priced well below one might expect and a black knee-length skirt that would serve as a wonderful staple year round, pair with feminine cat-eye sunnies, ankle strap heels and Anthropologie’s Mother-of-Pearl clutch for a sophisticated ensemble.

Some really beautiful and inspiring outfit choices. My favourites would be 1,10 and 11. They are all beautiful with a fun dose of personality! Thank you for tracking them all down.
I will say #3 (with the striped skirt)…..seems a lot of personality there! I find I am especially drawn to the “street style” pics of the Style Inspiration Posts-they spark my imagination/creative ideas, the other pics are lovely, but less inspiring to me for some reason….not sure why……..
Good morning. The leopard print blouse has personality…and will work as a daily staple in my capsule collection. I also need a black handbag.
I too love this Equipment print. While this precise print is out, here is another one of their leopard prints – same style – http://bit.ly/1h4mCt5
I’m torn between look #7 and look #10…i think I’ll have to go with look #10…love the elegant white shirt and fun printed pants 🙂
I love the “oui oui” shirt with the striped pants. Fun!
Great outfit ideas!
I make it a rule not to wear more than one type of patterns in one outfit to avoid clashing and my outfit looking too “busy”. For me, solids and patterns are the way to go!
I love the cream top in number 10.
The top in 10 is beautiful and outfit three looks fun.
Number 3! The striped skirt and navy t-shirt. It just looks so approachable. Like the wearer is a real person who threw on her outfit like most of us do.
#2 The black and white check skirt is great, and the black sandals are perfect.
I love the gingham skirt and crisp white top. Very Grace Kelly. I bet the shoes are Isabel Marant? Leopard print is a close 2nd. Love your blog.
I vote for the Oui Oui outfit. I need to know where to get that t-shirt!
Ann Marie – There are still a few left in stock – Joie Oui Oui tee and it’s on sale!

The 2nd to last pant and sleeveless top are great. Who are the pieces by?
