Whether the sleeves are extra long or the hem of the pencil skirt hits below the knees, even the extra gathering of fabric for a turtleneck, extra can sometimes be absolutely perfect.  I have always been a fan of over-the-knee skirts as they give an air of regality paired with elegance if the skirt is tailored like a silhouette without the grab. Long sleeves and cozy necklines also are one of my favorites for the chillier months – not only do they pair well with slender jeans, but they are so much fun to snuggle in. Have a look at a few outfit ideas.

  1. Nice look if you are tall, but on short people hems below the knee and sleeves below the wrist just look dowdy and careless. A gamine 16 year old may get away with it but not a mature woman.

  2. I much prefer longer things–actually, I”m happiest with anke-length skirts, lonhg and a bit loose sweaters….. I think they are more flattering for most of us,and more graceful…

  3. I do like the cardigan in number 7…..
As Lynn says, I find there are very few over-size pieces (esp knits) that don’t look ridiculous on a shorter mature person. Longer skirts can be ok, but the shape is crucial. As always in fashion-take what works and make it yours and ignore the rest.

  4. Absolutely agree… Nice pictures and good point! Would love to wear the looks on the pictures. I’d totally rock them and feel sexy and confident!
