A new year and even more inspiration for fine-tuning and curating a signature style. Building, editing and mastering one’s capsule wardrobe is an ongoing project, and in it’s own way a piece of art. As the new year begins, January offers an opportunity to save on items you may have had your eye on during the fall season but have been patiently waiting for the perfect price. Madewell, Shopbop, and J.Crew are just a few of the many online sites that are slashing prices with an available promo code. Net-a-Porter as well as reduced prices further (up to 70%), as well as opened their sale to the UK and Europe.

But as I continue to realize, it is the details – shoes, handbags, belts, scarves and jewelry that finish an outfit. Today have a look at outfits that while unique or classic in their own way, also contain a touch of an essential accessory that finishes the look.

On a blog update note, you will notice that the weekly Thursday Style Inspiration post will also include an Outfit of the Week at the end of the post. Each week I will pull one of the outfits included in the post and do the shopping for you. While the Splurge & Save post is going on a hiatus, this outfit will combine high and low items for you to pick and choose from. And as always, you can shop for the classic wardrobe essentials here on the SHOP TSLL page as you begin to pull the key building blocks together as you create your masterpiece of a signature capsule wardrobe.

  1. Lovely post! I always look forward to your posts every week and opening your blog page every morning with a cup of coffee is now a firm favourite way to start the day 🙂 just wanted to ask about what your thoughts are on dressing according to your colouring aka what season you are? It would be fantastic if you included capsule wardrobes for people of each season

Lots of love and happy new year!!
