Splurge & Save Outfit: No. 33

Nov 14, 2013

The pencil skirt is a wonderful essential item to have in your wardrobe, but rather than wearing the classic hues, why not opt for a colorful design? Keep it in balance with a solid color blouse that is loose and flattering, and you’ll make a statement appropriate at work but easy to transition into the evening with a pair of high heels. I especially love Emma Cook’s print design as a handful of different colored blouses can work well with this skirt – navy, off-white, turquoise, purple and even black.

While at first glance a print skirt may seem trendy, if you pair it with a timeless blouse and heels, you’ll be surprised how many seasons you can blend it seamlessly into your wardrobe.

  1. Cute outfits!

I’m really digging the printed pencil skirts and the heels with the ankle straps! Jeffrey Campbell has a pair that I’m dying to get. 🙂

  2. Hello,
I absolutely love your blog. You are an inspiration and sometimes the voice of reason for me, reading some of your articles.

I however do not like the new format of your blog. Ads and flashy fat lady (on the side) take away from the classic format.

I come here because you are unique. You offer advice and suggest things in a way that no one else would.

I love that you are not self-loathing daily outfit photo taking lady –> annoying !

Keep up the good work !

    B
