Last week, a spring trend that was discussed with guest to the podcast Tiffani Rogers was the return of the plaid, and this time, summer plaid.
Initially, I was skeptical of its “investment” worthy nature for summer, but I was reminded that indeed this style can absolutely be a classic to return to again and again. The key is to buy neutral colors, or if in brighter hues, select traditional plaid designs or silhouettes.
Above you will find a handful of different ideas for welcoming plaid into your spring wardrobe (and a few could easily transition into fall). In particular, the dress below from Vince caught my eye, as well as the layering over a black tee, a solid button up or again, a simple separate.
Plaid harkens back to, well, the term is actually tartan, as its origins are in Scotland, but with that, a traditional, historic, classic essence is presented when the woman or man dons a plaid skirt, dress or blazer.
