As a preview of TSLL’s Spring Shopping Guide which will be released this coming Sunday April 1st (here on the blog), I wanted to share one of the trends worth investing in this spring. The Shirt Dress.

Whether print or solid, knee-length, midi or maxi, the buttoned up, collared style is a timeless item to have in your spring and summer capsule wardrobe. You’ll notice as well the sleeve length can vary and below I shopped one which is sleeveless which would be ideal for the warm summer months.

In next week’s episode of the podcast (episode #202) stylist Tiffani Rogers will share how to style this cut as you want to make sure you still reveal a bit of shape either at your waist, legs, arms or neckline (as well as discuss other trends to invest in as well as other topics of style in the new season). So today, a head’s up and glimpse of what is to come and perhaps give you a few ideas of how to style and perhaps an options for including a shirt dress in your wardrobe. Peruse a few items I have shopped for you at the end of the post. {Remember, you may click any of the images in the post to be redirected to the original and shop that outfit if it is available.}

  1. I love this style! Very excited for your guide on Sunday! Where could I find the black and white dress, last pictured here? Thank you!!

  2. Shannon,

    I love your style guide, but can you please please please start adding plus sizes. I listened to your podcast yesterday and you stated that you are not a size 4 anymore. So why don’t you make your style guide for every woman and in every size? Please let’s support and encourage and ACCEPT all woman in all sizes.

    1. Tina, Thank you very much for your comment. I do my best to include plus sizes; however, I only want to recommend quality brands and items that I know and trust as I want TSLL readers to trust my recommendations (a worthwhile investment that will last for many seasons), and so I always recommend seeking out style bloggers whose expertise is with plus size clothing. I have worked with styling clients in all sizes, and am still learning. Thank you for understanding, and I will continue to share what I discover.

  3. A lovely selection. Only -which one??Shirt dresses are so versatile as shown worn with jeans beach cover up etc. A good investment piece. So looking forward to your guide. ?
