~the recipe for Spaghetti with Parmesan, Pine Nuts and Brown-Butter Sauce~
The rainy season has begun, and I must say, I am smitten. With beautiful blue skies one moment, to stormy, blustery bouts full of rain to share, this weekend looks to be a perfect one for snuggling inside catching up on reading and relaxing, and finishing up some spring wardrobe details (click here to shop TSLL seasonal essentials for your capsule wardrobe). While I’m wanting to do some planting of a couple of trees I’ve been patiently eager to add to my yard, I may just have to put it on hold, or perhaps I’ll tough it out. Who knows. Either way, the weekend will be flexible, and aren’t those the best kind?
This week on the blog, the discussion of simple was the readers’ favorite and TSLL Home Tour resumed as well. With the last post of the series having now wrapped up, I am ready to slow down with projects around the home and simply enjoy my newly spruced up sanctuary. However, with anything we wish to enjoy, I was reminded that we must put forth effort to achieve any worthwhile goal. Thank you for coming along with me on the virtual open house.
Recently, I’ve been making plans to visit New York City this summer, so the Big Apple has been on my mind. And is shows in this week’s articles I discovered and want to share from around the web. Have a look and enjoy.
~Heather Clawson of Habitually Chic takes her readers on a tour of her favorite haunts on the Upper East Side in Destination Fabulous
~For a humorous look at modern fashion trends, read Delia Ephron’s (yep, Nora’s sister is just as talented) opinion piece “The Season of the Zipper” in The New York Times
~And since, well, NYC is a top destination, read A Cup of Jo’s NYC Tips and Etiquette. . . complete with images and a smudge of truth blended with humor
And then The Paris Review offered up a very intriguing and worthwhile read . . . The Aulds Have It . . . when I saw the image which was paired with it (Angela Lansbury’s cover of The Gentlewoman in 2012), my attention was captured and upon reading, I was intrigued further still.
Have a wonderful weekend, and be sure to find time to enjoy a few simple luxuries here and there. Until the next post, bonjour.
