Yesterday’s passing of Nelson Mandela is a loss for not only South Africans, but the world; however, there is much need for celebration for all that he accomplished and inspired. I am full of contemplation about his strength, struggles, humanity and humility this morning as there are many lessons we all can walk away with from this courageous human being.
It is when such historic shifts occur, that I appreciate time to absorb all that prompted the attention and reflection. So I’m thankful for this upcoming weekend which offers a slower pace and a to-do list that is minimal. As I prepare to bundle up for the cold weekend ahead (-1 degree fahrenheit tomorrow – yikes!), I’m looking forward to a cozy warm fire in the fireplace, attempting to make my own luxurious chocolat chaud (if it all works out, I promise to share) and finishing up a styling project with a delightful client who has phenomenal taste.
May your weekend be warm, celebratory and full of gratitude. Until Monday, bonjour.
“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” -Nelson Mandela
