I recently came across a creative decor idea while reading the WSJ’s Off Duty section this past weekend. On the topic of lighting, most particularly for the kitchen, this article – Transform Your Kitchen, offered a single solution for adding an abundance of personality to a traditional kitchen without the huge construction cost: differentiated non-matching pendant lighting.
As demonstrated in the west London Victorian home above and just below, the three similar, yet unique pendants (all from Noor), make a statement without overwhelming the space. (tour the entire home featured in Homes & Gardens UK here)
The article reminds that pairing three or more varying pendants is suggested to ensure onlookers know that your mismatching is intentional, and to keep in mind that pendants are easier to change than a permanent remodel, tile or cupboards. Certainly a rather simple decor idea to add some punch of personality to any space, whether it is the kitchen or not.
