“A slice of Chanel heaven”, as described by Sarah Mower upon watching Karl Lagerfeld’s final collection Tuesday in Paris.
The fall 2019 collections in Paris wrapped up this week, and culminated with the understandably somber, yet celebratory Chanel show at the Palais Royal, designed as a winter ski chalet high in the hills, it was serene, it was inventive, it was classic Lagerfeld – a curator of a fashionable stage to showcase the house that Coco Chanel built.
The programs for the show beheld the illustrations of two figures – Lagerfeld and Chanel, drawn by Lagerfeld himself and the caption – “The Beat Goes On”.

As you will see below, the Chanel collection included the classic tweed paired with warm and bright whites, adorned with pearls, chains and other statement jewelry.
But there were many collections to enjoy, and many which will most certainly be worth remembering when the fall season arrives. Below a glimpse at the trends worth splurging on as they are certain to last for years.
