~The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
If you are someone who is looking at 2015 and vowing to purge your home of the unnecessary and not just for the evanescent moment that is January, but year round, have a look at Marie Kondo’s international best-selling book. A Japanese cleaning consultant, Kondo introduces a category-by-category approach that is supposedly more successful in maintaining the order we create.
Whether you are looking for an individualized gift for a loved one or friend or are on the hunt for an initial necklace yourself, these custom initial necklaces are a rather decent deal at $30.
Made of baby alpaca wool, a simple, neutral accessory that will keep you warm and work with nearly everything you wear during the wintery months.
When the winter months arrive, I immediately switch from my chemise as sleepwear to my pajama top and bottoms. Always on the look out for a color and style that catches my eye, as well as a good price, Ralph Lauren’s Lauren collection satisfied both criteria. For under $100 (and available in pink as well), this set would be ideal for leisurely mornings and cozy evenings in.

First let me begin by apologizing for this week’s Outfit of the Week being delayed. Trust me, it was for good reason, as now all of signed copies of Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life: A Modern Woman’s Guide are officially en route to their recipients. If you were one of these readers, you should have received a confirmation email letting you know it is on its way and will arrive by the official launch date December 16th (international orders may need a few additional days). I am so eager for you to have your book, and want to thank all of my readers for their emails, Instagram pics and Facebook comments. Please note, any and all reviews on Amazon are greatly appreciated (and feedback for the 2nd book will certainly be taken into consideration as one is already in the works).
But on another note, it is the weekend! Maybe you already have your holiday decor up and the seasonal tunes ringing throughout the house, as many of my neighbors do. I so love living near and around people who enjoy the season. Can you believe it’s nearly mid-December? Or perhaps you are like me and are just now beginning to get your home in the holiday spirit. As is the case, I am thrilled to finally be getting in the groove and will be picking out my tree this weekend, as well as accessorizing the home. Without question, you can rest assured the classic Peanuts Christmas soundtrack and many others that are on my favorites’ list will be filling the house.
But in the meantime, hopefully you will be able to find some time to just relax and peruse a favorite book, magazine or anything that piques your interest. And if you’re looking to catch your eye, these articles may be something you might enjoy:
