Stripes for leisure or professional occasions. Wear a cotton Breton top for play or a silk black and white button up blouse for work. Either way, stripes work, and work well. Find a balance with a solid blouse or skirt, where with denim or tailored trousers, but above all know that you’ve chosen something that is timeless. (Click on each image to shop the look.)
~SHOP some Stripes:
~A great new designer for all things stripes is La Ligne. Be sure to check out their collection. Everything under $550.
Stripes are always in style, especially simple black and white or blue and white ones. They never look dated. And they can mix well with other patterns, like florals. I’m more into simplicity, especially like look #2.
I love stripes, especially in the summer months, stripes say nautical, beachy, fun. A couple of weeks ago I bought a skirt very similar to the one in the second photo whilst shopping in La Rochelle. I have already worn it several times, to the races, out to lunch and even just hanging around at home with a pair of sneakers.
What a great find!
I bought a 20Euro striped boat neck t shirt with 3/4 length sleeves in Paris and I seem to be wearing it in every Facebook photo I’m in. It travels well and looks great with a pencil skirt, black pants or jeans. To me, stripes say French. Thank you for the inspiring post Shannon, I love the striped shirt with the striped pants, ha ha! Pushing the stripes window.
I do too! I know there are a lot of stripes, but it works!
