After watching the French drama series, Blood of the Vine (petit plaisir of episode #298), it became quickly apparent that effortless style was Benjamin Lebel’s associate’s go-to capsule approach. Nearly each episode in which Mathilde appears, she is wearing an oversized jacket/blazer, sleeves pushed up 3/4 or to the elbow, slim jeans, ankle boots, short heels or pointed toe heels and a light-weight tee or camisole underneath. Slung over her shoulder is a shoulder bag, and next to no jewelry, if any, along with simple everyday makeup enabling her natural beauty to glow. Radiant, sensible, yet stylish, letting her work and presence do the talking while her wardrobe supports her daily routine.

Today’s extra Outfit of the Month (see the original O of the M here for January – a three-outfit post) is inspired by this character as such an outfit is a wonderful year-round go-to. Finding an oversized, quality blazer from a trusted designer and at a fair price, perhaps you already have one or more of these items in your closet and just need one more piece to make the look fresh, new and tailored to your life. I do hope you enjoy and may we all step back into style as we gradually step forward into a new year.

  1. I really like the look of this style! I will have to find this series in Norway as well. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Hege, it is a series of cozy murder mystery solving, but each episode takes you to a beautiful French vineyard in the countryside. The main characters are absolutely lovely. I think you will enjoy. 😌 Thank you for stopping by.

  2. Totally agree this is a great year-round get-up. I also use it as my go-to travel outfit, though I swap out the heels for ballet flats or ankle boots. It let’s you feel put together and professional but also allows for comfort on those long trips…when travel was a thing. Layer on a scarf for those chilly cabins and you’re set!

    1. Laurie, thank you for sharing why you enjoy this ensemble and how versatile it can be! Yes, flats, a scarf, ankle boots, each offer the ability to be comfortable and chic wherever you are. Thank you very much for up your comment and when the safe travel returns, oh, what a celebratory day that will be. ☺️

  3. Hi Shannon! I’m on episode 3 and loving every minute, thank you for bringing this show to your lists…and yes to Mathilde’s approach! (After receiving a couple of camis that came along with brocade blouses last spring, have been absolutely clamoring for a silk cami~) Till soon, have a beautiful day xo Liz
