GOOP just released their first clothing collection, GOOP label, on Monday. And while it only consists of a couple of items, Gwyneth has designed and selected these capsule items first-hand. A limited supply is available, so be sure to take a look. I have chosen the tweed belted blazer as I think it would be a wonderful staple to wear for fall and winter season after season.

  1. The jacket is fabulous but I cannot pay that much. I am not sure if I am in a small minority of your followers/fans but while I LOVE most of your recommendations for clothing I just don’t have the budget to purchase a 400,00 Eileen F. jacket, let alone a 650.00 one. Have you ever considered doing a high/low post where maybe the high end jacket and then a comparable one that is currently avail. for perhaps the 150.00-250.00 price range? Sometimes bloggers do this but often the low end one they link to is “older” and sold out. Just an idea.

    1. Nancy, great idea and something I have done in the past. To save time and offer high and low options on many capsule items, I’hand-picked items and placed them in TSLL Shop under “Capsule Wardrobe Items”. If you have any other questions, just let me know! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

    2. I agree. A $650 jacket is out of budget for many with an “every day income”. To be honest, most of Shannon’s recommedations are way over my budget, and I make a very good wage. Many bloggers choose to highlight expensive items because they earn money when a reader purchases that item (affliate links). What the blogger earns is usually a percent of the cost of the item.

      1. Amy, You are correct that some links do have ties to affiliates and I disclose that in the FAQ page. However, interestingly enough, I have no affiliate ties to GOOP and will receive nothing if anyone buys it. My choice to include it was because it’s stunning and I wanted to offer inspiration and share the news of her new collection.

  2. That’s a gorgeous blouse! I don’t wear prints much, but I love the print and the subtleness of the colour on this one! I might have to grab it!

  3. Several years ago I splurged $250.00 for an A. Fisher black nylon jacket. I wear it all the time in San Francisco and it has traveled with me several times to Europe. It is worth every single cent. Think cost per wear not the price itself.

    1. Liz, Thank you for sharing your experience with purchasing investment clothing. Cost per wear is always something to keep in mind. After all, if you don’t have to go shopping each season for the same item over and over, you really are paying less not only because of the money you don’t spend, but the time saved. Thank you again for your comment.
