From France, to simply luxurious silk, to sales on cashmere, yep, this week’s full of treasures . . .

~Paris Letters

Janice MacLeod’s memoir of self-determination to save up and then travel to Paris, is a delightful tale of unexpected romance, the City of Light and a woman who taps into her talents to create a life she loves. Oh, I absolutely can’t wait to read this book and can’t believe I haven’t heard of it until now. Visit Janice MacLeod’s website here. And don’t forget, it is her illustrations that tell the tale. Enjoy!

~Katy Kookaburra Silk Pillowcases

Moisturized skin, fewer wrinkles, soft and detangled hair. These are just a few of the benefits cited by experts of sleeping on silk pillowcases. So when the artisan herself reached out to me, offering one of her handmade silk pillowcases, I was eager to add these simple luxury to my nightly beauty routine. Upon switching my pillowcase from cotton to silk, I went to bed wanting to hug my pillow and awakening with skin that was far less parched than it typically is due to living in such a dry climate. As a teacher in the UK, Katy pays attention to detail and top quality. Be sure to visit her Esty shop here to have a look at her selection.

~The Art of the Louvre’s Tuileries Garden

Last Friday a reader brought to my attention an art exhibit at the Portland (Oregon) Art Museum which showcases more than 100 sculptures, paintings and photographs that pay tribute to the evolution, art and design of the Tuileries Garden in Paris. Having just begun June 14th and running through September 21st, I cannot wait to stop in on my next trip to Portland. With art from Pissarro, Édouard Manet, Henri Cartier-Bressonm, as well as sculptures from Coysevox and Bosio that has never before been shown in the United States. Save up $20 and be sure to attend Tuesday through Sunday sometime this summer.

~Amazon Music Amazon Prime (One Year Membership)

If you have been looking for great music and customized playlists, but don’t have the time to make them yourself, Amazon has just created a wonderful new feature for their Prime members. Just announced earlier this month, when you become an Amazon Prime member ($99/yr – free 2 day shipping, Amazon Video, Amazon Music), you gain access to unlimited ad-free music and endless playlists organized by genre and occasion. My favorites of course were the many Jazz playlists such as “Cooking with Jazz” and “Rainy Day Jazz”

~Eric Bompard VIP Sale

A wardrobe staple – the cashmere sweater – finds me choosing Eric Bompard knits which are made in France. And while they are an investment, every once in awhile a fantastic sale arises, and today is such an opportunity. Through June 24th, the entire spring and summer collection is 30% off using promo code JPEBP14. My pick for summer would be the extra fine v-neck pull-over or the batwing v-neck pullover, but there are many styles and colors to choose from.

~Reiss Summer Sale

Beginning today, Reiss offers its classic, yet modern clothing at fantastic discounted prices. No promo code necessary, shop now! These are a few of the items that caught my eye especially since they were 30% off – a nude print cross body handbag, a classic black trench, and this cuff is just exceptional.

  1. Wonderful list! I have two Eric Bompard sweaters, and they’re worth every penny. Color is rich and vibrant, and they’re light as a feather to wear.

  2. Paris in Love, A Memoir by Eloisa James was a delightful read. She’s a Shakespeare professor who took the leap of faith and moved to the City of Light.

  3. Does anyone know how the Eric Bompard sweaters fit? Are they true to size? I am usually a small in most sweaters ( J. Crew, Everlane, Uniqlo).

    Thank you,
